Jason Whitlock nails another carcass to his wall. Really LeBron? Racial?

Was his parade over the top? Most definitely. Would it have been a better story if he stayed in Cleveland? No doubt.

I just wish Dwayne Wade didn't play with this idiot because I actually like Wade.

Wade I like. Bosh is a good player but not an MVP type player. It is not like Toronto set the league on fire with him. I still think the title is L.A.'s to lose. The Lakers only got better this offseason. LeBron will come off looking like a colossal failure when the Heat don't win 70 games and the championship because he won't be able to throw his supporting cast under the bus anymore.

The owners letter was over the top, but what was racial? I find it hilarious that same crowd who moaned and complained about James are "racists" ....when they are the same crowd that moans and complains about Favre not making up his mind every year. Those "racists"....wait, Favre's white?? Well then how can that...I'm confused.<div>
</div><div>Oh, now I get it. Anytime a black guy feels he got heat he can claim racism, but a white guy just has to take it. Got it!!</div>

The reaction from Cleveland fans would be mild by comparison. Those Chowderheads would have burned Bird's house down. Race is not a factor.

The East will be a bear this year with probably 3 other teams winning 60+ games (Boston, Orlando, maybe Chicago). Take too many nights off and the Heat could lose homecourt advantage in the playoffs.

I actually liked all the taking pictures of teammates and all that childish crap, because it really seemed like he liked his teammates and really loved playing in Cleveland.

I have one friend that lives in the Cleveland area, and he said that he would put the love and adoration the city of Cleveland had for Lebron against any city and their adoration towards any other athlete in the last 20 years. The fact that he was from Ohio simply made the relationship so real for so many fans.

Too bad Delonte West couldn't keep his hands off Bron's mom. (I've decided to believe this story)

Not saying that its racial but recently the top10 most hated athletes by fans came out. the list included Kobe, TO, Chad OchoCinco, Mchael Vick, Tiger Woods and Lebron.I cantremember who the other one was but he was Black. Im a Kobe fan but I understand him, vick and Tigerand maybe TO because he's a spoiled brat that throws his teammates under the bus but Im confused how Chad (who doesnt smoke or drink and has never had any kind of scandal) and Lebron makes the list over Big Ben or maybe even Favre. Big Ben has been accused of rape twice and suspended from the league but people love him more than some of these other athletes. I dont get it.

Edited to add: The top 6 most hated athletes are black and 5 of the 6 most loved athletes are white.

"The top six most hated sports figures are, in order of their ranking, Michael Vick, Tiger Woods, Terrell Owens, Chad OchoCinco, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. All six of the players areAfrican-American.</p>

The top six most loved sports figures are, in order of their ranking, Michael Jordan, John Madden, Shaun White, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Arnold Palmer. Five of the six players are white."</p>

to imply that these athletes race plays into people's perception of them

Vick - dogfighter. I mean he is just a sick 17
Woods - always had a rep for being a dickhead on the course. Major sex scandal. Plus he is only half black. Personally, I still like Tiger as a golfer & always have.
Owens - crybaby, *******, prima donna
OchoCinco - arrogant prima donna *******
Bryant - accused of rape as well, just like Big Ben
James - most people didn't really hate him until the whole saga this past off-season

Jordan - loved for what he did on the court. He was such a transitional figure in basketball that most people overlook his past transgressions. However, his stock fell with a lot of people after the stories of his gambling problems & infidelity became more well known.
Madden - what is there to dislike about Madden? Class guy with a distinguished career
White - again, what in the world is there to dislike? Tons to like as the guy is phenomenal at what he does
Manning - arguably the best QB of his time, maybe not in championships, but definitely in ability and work ethic
Montana - see Manning except he has the rings to go with it
Palmer - Again, what is there to dislike?

People don't hate the first list because they are black. They hate them because they are arrogant *** holes
People don't love the second list because they are white, they love them because of what they accomplish in their sport while, for the most part, are not arrogant *** holes away from sports.

Looking at the top 6 is not an accurate picture. I would bet that if you expand that list of beloved athletes you would see a higher percentage of African-Americans. Off the top of my head I think you would see Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Emmet Smith, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Derek Jeter, and a bunch of others I am probably leaving out.

So you mean being an arrogant asswipeor leaving your hometown team garners more hate than atwo time accused rapist? You cantlogically tell me that makes sense to you. Im not saying it has anything to do with race but you cant look at that list and be surprised when someone thinks that maybe for a second, race plays a part in it.

In your honest opinion, you thinkChad Johnson and Lebron should be on that list before Big Ben or Rick Pitino?

with "The Decision". All the money went to charity, didn't it? He had a chance to raise a few million dollars for the Boys and Girls Club in NJ - whats the problem?

No one can fault LeBron. He's in a better situtation to win titles, and now he he lives in South Beach. He probably sleeps with 2 different Latin bombshells a week and still makes max money.

Like Whitelock (who is a really good writer on this stuff) said.. no one cares that LeBron left outside of Cleveland.

So you mean being an arrogant ******* or leaving your hometown team garners more hate than a two time accused rapist? You cant logically tell me that makes sense to you. Im not saying it has anything to do with race but you cant look at that list and be surprised when someone thinks that maybe for a second, race plays a part in it.

However, the actions, attitudes, and the manner in which these athletes conduct themselves lead to people's perceptions of that athlete. If you asked the most casual NFL fan who Chad Ochocinco or Terrell Owens are, they are most likely going to mention two things. 1. Really good receiver and 2. Loud mouth arrogant prima donna. Conversely, if you ask them about Big Ben, most might know he plays QB for the Steelers. A good portion may not even be aware about his off the field transgressions. I barely follow the NFL at all & wasn't aware that he had been accused twice. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other about him personally. The point I'm making is that the people at the top of that list are there because they put themselves there by the way they choose to present themselves to people (their mistakes notwithstanding).

I can tell you that I personally can't stand all but Woods on that list. The reason ain't race because there are a ton of Af-Amer. athletes that I love to watch play & admire for their skills as well as for the way the act outside of sports.

In your honest opinion, you think Chad Johnson and Lebron should be on that list before Big Ben or Rick Pitino?

I'm not saying they should be, but their actions have created a public perception of them. They both crave the spotlight. They feed off of it. They are attention whores of the highest level. With that comes large groups of people that will dislike you for that persona.

The only articles I saw had the Top 6 most hated and liked.
If you expand that list I just about guarantee that some of those on the hated list will be on the most liked list also. Kobe is very popular with alot of NBA fans but the ones that dislike him have a pretty intense dislike. Same goes with Tiger. That is the nature ofbeing the best. I saw a list not long ago that listed the Cowboys and Yankees as the two most hated and also most popular teams in America.

I am sure he is a great teammate and he seemed to really enjoy playing. He had a good time on the floor. But to throw race into it? Come on.

I've always liked Pittsburgh, but I just can't pull for them anymore with that guy still around. He ought to be in jail.

Not sure if race is the issue, or if it's just that he doesn't have as high a profile as the others.

Certainly I think Lebron has earned his spot on the list. Worse than Roethlisberger, well no, but he's definitely an easy guy to hate after "The Decision". What an egomaniac.

I actually like Ochocinco. He obviously has an ego, but I think a lot of what he does is just in fun. Unlike TO, Ochocinco has not single-handedly destroyed a team and been run out of town, much less 2-3 different teams.

Why should Rick Pitino be high on the list? My understanding is that he committed an act of adultery, and when the woman tried to blackmail him over it he had her tried and convicted. Obviously adultery is bad, but it's par for the course in the world of sports. I don't think it warrants Top 5 Most Hated.

At the end of the day, it's a person's opinion to why they think a person is or isn't on the list. Lebron and ochocinco's opinion was race. Your opinion is because most people are not aware of Big Ben's not one but TWO rape charges. No offense but i doubt that's the case. Big Ben has been in the news two separate occasions for rape charges and is missing roughly 25% of the season. If a "fan" doesn't know that then they probably shouldn't be voting in a fan poll anyway.

that it`s starting to wear very thin on many people. These black athletes may just be experiencing a backlash that many blacks are going to experience if this "victim"******** doesn`t stop.</p>
