That morning show where the journalists try to out liberal each other? He said don't go overboard praising MSU'S hiring of Croom because after all, our lilly white bball team didn't want to go play against black players in '63...why MSU didn't go off on their asses or at least have 6 Pack nominate him for an award I don't know ..

It's getting insane. I don't know what he tweeted but he apologized and that's fine with me. It's bad enough that he apparently revealed himself to be an idiot for thinking out loud on twitter. All sorts of people have different views than mine, but I have no desire to ruin their lives and perhaps those of their wives and children. People make mistakes, say and write idiotic things, and thus set themselves up for ridicule from those who disagree. That should be sufficient. He's an opinion journalist so he's bound to offend people--it's the nature of his profession. How about ditching the totalitarian impulses of people whose feelings get hurt because of someone else's views. Roland Martin of CNN recently got suspended for a dumb comment about David Beckham in an underwear ad. PC is out of control. Get over your anger and grow up. There are young men waking up in the mountains of Afghanistan on their third tour of duty yet American civilians can't handle a tweet from Jason Whitlock. Ridiculous.

Wanting somebody fired because he may have hurt someone's feelings is a little much.

Some of you guys are sounding extra sensitive about that comment. Like ... you're coming up a little ... short ... yourselves.

about Asians having short dicks. I thought it was funny but could see how people take it the wrong way.

Whitlock has written plenty of articles talking about the black hip-hop culture and how it hurts black society. Says it's ridiculous.

I thought it was a funny comment and would normally have no problem with this. The PC police that demand people to step down over off-color jokes get on my nerves. However, it does seem that the backlash is a little one sided on this topic. All in all, journalists should know better than to keep doing this. Whitlock often finds himself in racially motivated discussions. I'd say let him keep his job under the condition that he can no longer publicly criticize others for subjective racial motives.

Most NBA players make more money in one year that the entire budget of the state of Mississippi; they constantly act like ******** on & off the court. And the way they treat the game of basketball on a nightly basis would make Dr. James Naismith vomit.

Yet you are going to raise hell about one of these idiots being on the receiving end of a small dick joke?

Go traffic in your racial sensitivity feigned outrage somewhere else.

ok... I had skimmed over that one and didn't really read too much into it and thought he was talking about one of his own hookups. After seeing it's about Lin... I'm sorry... call me an ******* all you guys want, but I laughed.<div>
</div><div>I do agree that there is a double standard in journalism as far *** their off-color comments are concerned. I really don't know where I stand on the fence though. I guess it depends on to what degree a person takes these things.</div>

would be an idiot. THAT is the double standard. Anyone of another color would be forced to leave their job after such racist PR, regardless of intent. Morgan Tracy is another example of how there's a double standard after his comments here in Nashville.
Do I think the comment was funny from either? Yeah, I see the humor. But it's the double standard that really pisses me off.
Where's ole Jesse Jackson and his RAINBOW Coalition? I guess Asian is not a color in his rainbow's spectrum...

haha that's pretty hilarious actually.

and as one of 6 pack's more liberal members, i agree to some extent that people need to lighten up on **** like this. there is a fine line though between ok and too far. that said, if you are a public figure, you should be more aware of the consequences of your tweets/FB posts. whitlock shouldn't be fired, he apologized. time to let it go and not get so wrapped up in calling for someone's head over a spur of the moment off color joke. no point in beating it into the ground. and no, i don't think a white reporter would get fired over the same tweet.

is the fact that he apparently thinks Asian-Americans now know how he felt when watching Tiger start to win....apparently forgetting that Tiger is as much Asian as he is African-American.<div>
</div><div>It's funny that he constantly calls people out for viewing things with a racial lens, yet he then says things that make it obvious he views things with that very lens himself. In fact, it really is just about 'race' with him or what someone looks like as opposed to actual ethnicity. Whitlock's tweet shouldn't get him fired; the fact that he is bad at his job and a constant race-baiter should. </div>

But this whole argument reminded me of an article that he wrote about Imus and the infamous "nappy headed" Rutgers women's team. I've never linked before but here it goes:
http://www.freerepublic.c...cus/f-news/1815474/posts

His argument sounds eerily familiar doesn't it?

Whitlock Quote:

"I’m no Don Imus apologist. He and his tiny companion Mike Lupica blasted me after I fell out with ESPN. Imus is a hack. </p>

But,
in my view, he didn’t do anything outside the norm for shock jocks and
comedians. He also offered an apology. That should’ve been the end of
this whole affair. Instead, it’s only the beginning. It’s an opportunity
for Stringer, Jackson and Sharpton to step on victim platforms and
elevate themselves and their agenda$. </p>

I watched the Rutgers news conference and was ashamed."</p>
