Sunday's VT vs Okla St dual meet: Will 133 lbs feature Seidel vs Jax, or is Jax wrestling at the Messiah Open?

Jax was seen in the room beating Nico maybe he will go 41 for PSU.
Anyone know what mat Luke Pletcher is on?
Is Mike Evans impressed.

I believe he is going to the open attached to get more matches.

Is the Messiah Open going to have enough D1 competition for him? Or do matches against D2 and D3 wrestlers count too?
D2 and D3 wrestlers don't count.

Forrest is 7-0 with 2 duals remaining. Let's assume he gets 4 matches at B12s. He would still need to add 2 opponents -- or 3 opponents if he skips Seidel.

Without looking at brackets, that's not a sure thing at Messiah. They would probably need to do some bracket gymnastics -- give him a lower seed and stack his half. And maybe even then still hope for no upsets in his half.

IIRC Taylor said both Ramirez and Forrest were traveling to VT. So it's immaterial, unless Forrest travels with the team to Blacksburg and then his parents pick him up from there.

If Jax doesnt have enough matches, does that just mean he has to place a certain place at Big12s?

Jax will have enough matches by Big 12s to allocate a spot (he will have at least 8 matches for coaches rank) and will have better than 70% winning %. No issue there.

if he doesn’t have at least 15 matches after Big 12s he won’t earn seeding points for RPI which will hurt his NCAA seed

Assuming Jax wins Big 12's either way, what's more important getting over the match threshold with 3-4 nobody wins at an open, or another quality win vs a highly ranked Seidel?

Anyone with with enough knowledge to estimate his Nationals seed after winning Big12s short a match or two versus a Seidel win?

If he loses to Seidel that's the worst case scenario and one I kinda hope for just to slow down the hype train just a bit. ;-)

In the other thread it was mentioned that he was going to the jackrabbit open
I made that supposition, and it was a guess based upon the rumor of him doing an Open this weekend + which ones were available.

Taylor said he's traveling with the team to VT.

Seidel is very competitive and moved up to wrestle Jax last year. Met in finals as undefeated competitors and Jax had his way 7-1. I watched it and it business as usual for Jax.

I, for one, am sick of the Jaxxxx hype. Again, the guy is older than Blaze but people acting like he’s some inexperienced high school kid. The Cowboy hype (wagon) train in full effect.

Seidel beating him will rival Ramos sticking his Lordship in schadenfreude if the bout happens

I guess I simply want the match to happen because two of our brightest young stars can battle it out and the fans win. Jax has always seemed like a very good kid from everything I have seen. It is ok to just admire the skills and to enjoy watching these guys compete without having any grand dark plan.

If DT’s plan isn’t to wrestle him vs. Seidel - a match I’d prefer to see - I’m guessing he ends up at Mat Town II in Lock Haven. With a lead foot he could be back in Blacksburg before the team bus leaves for the airport.

Wouldn't it be something it Nate weighed in light vs Ragusin to get back down to 133 for Mat Town II.

FWIW it's worth to this conversation, which probably isn't much since Taylor said Forrest would travel with them this weekend, but Cutter Sheets is the only Okie State wrestler in at the Lock Haven Open.

Seidel taking it to Jax through 1. So impressive

Jax strikes back!! 9-6 Jax after 4 NF

What a match!! Seidel ties it with a td. Challenging for backpoints which I think there should be. Jax did escape so 10-9 before the challenge

No backs. Jax wins 10-9

I think Seidel got screwed. He had back points in my view

3 tds for Seidel to 1 for Jax. Jax got 4 back points though
