I really didn't think it happen this soon but I find my self rooting for Iowa more than ok state

Ditto. I have many mixed feelings about DT.
Jax did win Mat Town last year and has beaten NCAA AA previously in opens . He will be in the mix if he goes.
If he does go and does great it will help David recruit. Whatever happens I hope it is something Jax and family are all in on. There is a lot more to Life than just wrestling.
He's been out there before so he is probably pretty acclimated already so what's the difference between his situation compared to say blaze. He just missed the early season like a freshman that gets his red shirt pulled for an injury.
I expect he's being given a 5-match opportunity to earn the postseason spot. Or at least that's the cover story, because he's obviously their best 133.
I think he ends up going this year. DT is ultra competitive and I think he wants to ensure this year's team out performs last year's team. The value of Forrest to the program 5 years from now is just too far out. Plus Jax will demonstrate he is absolutely ready in his 5 matches if not outright dominate.

That's sort of what I was thinking. Minimally he has Frost and Ayala on the schedule. Probably a couple other good ones. If he beats those guys why not go? Unless of course they're back loading. I guess with NIL money kids will probably stick around for the full 4 years now more than in the past? That last part is a question.
I too find myself rooting for Iowa over tOSU (mostly against TanTom not their guys) and Okie State and then tOSU over Okie St. Come to think about it, I find myself rooting for everyone over Okie State.
I’m sure Jax is the one pushing to go this season. Again, he seems like one of those guys who looks at a competition like 133 this year and wants in at all costs.
I might be in the minority here but I think this is pretty cool. A revitalized fan base recognizing a big piece of their future.
I like a strong OSU. I like a strong ISU. The BIG conference can't hold all of the really good teams if college wrestling is sustainable imo. I really want a strong ASU to go with the other two. Plus I would root for Iran against Iowa ( I mean it is less dangerous). I do respect Iowa's tradition and huge fan base. I don't like anything about tOSU. The best thing about this year is getting the chance to see Tan Tom crushed after his great program is pistol whipped on a cold night in Feb.

Oddly, I feel the opposite. I may’ve tried to dislike DT’s defection, but it’s not taking. Seems strange to be pulling for them in all bouts and duals against non-Lions--especially Hawks--but I will.
Regardless of conference, I like strong competition. While it would be cool to see PSU get every top recruit and win all 10 weights without breaking a sweat, that's definitely not good for the sport. Coming from this PSU program that has revolutionized the fundamentals of how the sport is run, it's absolutely a great thing that DT looks like he's elevating a second program to the truly elite level. This is a rivalry that will last a long time.
agree. You can bet DT is looking forw to somehow getting a dual meet to halt the record - IMO.
Another plus to what DT is doing is how it will elevate team USA. Two viable options for Freestyle training at the highest level.
If Jax goes I think we do get a Blaze vs Jax final. Super tough weight. I can see Davino giving Jax a super tough match. Jax lets people in on his legs and Davino will absolutely attack. Finishing is a different story though. Byrd is great and can repeat but I don’t think he looks quite as good as he did last year. At this point I don’t Ayala even gets on the podium
Yes, and as a fan, I'd absolutely love to see it, although Cael has been a little reluctant to put these kinds of matches on the schedule, and I also certainly trust Cael to know what the best workload is for the team.
There are no guarantees on the 133 finals this year. This weight is deeper with world class talent than any I can remember. Byrd & Ayala are both back, plus frosh Blaze, Jax, Davino, Larkin, and Seidel. Crookham wrestled this weekend, too. If he's back to 100%, that's another elite hammer in the draw. You still have really tough guys like Van Dee, Frost, Fugitt, and Knox that are almost an afterthought at this point. This weight is just ridiculous.

I disagree completely. He thinks he can win and at the least he's teaching his wrestler's that nothing is in perfect alignment. Wrestle best wrestlers come what may. Fax is better Ramirez. Wrestle and waist any other wrestlers is stupid as well.wrestling mentality like that needs to stop. It's not the same 10 years ago about. Much like Duke wrestle this year messenbrink redshirt next no years waited. OKS is out to get us and we have to be sharper than they are. Thanks

133 is über deep and talented, even more so with Forrest. But I'm gonna say that Ayala, a two-time finalist, finds a way to at least make the podium.
