I’d like to know how he plays defense. How willing? How much energy and tenacity.

With us losing Caleb to graduation, if we lose Mag (really, REALLY hope we don’t), we need a shutdown wing defender and someone to lead our press, like Mag does.
Looks like a willing defender (ex: on ball defense at 1:47 mark and close out at 2:00 mark), and what he can't do on defense, with his speed and quickness, Pike can get him to do. What stands out to me is his ability to go left and his ability to finish, something that Mag is not great at. Looks like an OK three point shooter. However good he is, he would likely be better if he got he got his feet squared under him. I don't think we get a transfer based on his ability to man the top of our press, but I think he can do that also.

There is a full game on YouTube in the Big South championship where he is dominant and guards Drew Pember pretty effectively, a guy who would be one of the biggest names in the transfer portal if he entered (which he won’t be). His stats look good as well. If Mag left he would be a solid replacement, if Mag doesn’t he still would be one heck of a rotation piece.

Similar type player to Mag. I'd go after him whether Mag leaves or not.
True. Can never have too many of these players. Plus Mag not expected to be fully healthy until mid season at the earliest.

Seems like he has a more diverse offensive game than Mag, with better handle and dribble drive ability, and athleticism to get off shots from distance while being defended.

Also seems to have the energy and athletic ability to be a plus defender, at least in the press. And he’s got those long arms that make Caleb and Mag so effective on defense.

Would love to have this kid even if Mag stays, as Mag probably won’t be 100% until January at the earliest.
