I feel a quote from the greatest movie of all time is appropriate - "My advice to you, start drinking heavily - "listen to this man he is pre-med"
I don't recall that line in Pulp Fiction.........or Half Baked for that matter lol

none-the-less the advice is solid.

Another question for WWS and JCA is: what should the administrations of each school do to address their coaching situations going forward?

pjjp,

To answer your question I think the administration at WWS should make a change. Muhitich had been great but the last few years the program has lost steam and honestly he has lost focus of the little things and has made some questionable decesions.

The staff had been depleted over the years by guys leaving for other jobs which is a good thing but it means they will have to look outside of the program for a coach since they have wiffed over the last few years when trying to bring back coaches for a head a coach in waiting set up.

On the positive side WWS has great facilities, great support, pays very well, has more then enough talent in the halls and a history of winning so they should be able to get a terrific coach if they choose to. The principal supports the program and signed off on Dave Inserra when he was at Maine South. I don't know how involved he was in that hire but the expirence can't hurt.

Well at least you guys always have the Bears if you want to watch some winning football.

I was at the JCA, MCC game and I am wondering the same thing!

You probably should've went to the CLC game. Your beloved Tigers could use your coaching analysis and expertise. Leave the administrative decisions at WWS and Joliet Catholic to those that at least know a little about high school football.

Brook will get in at 5-4 or even 6-3. And some 9-0 or 8-1 team will be scared to death to draw them.

This will be their biggest issue as they do not pay that well relative to other nearby public high schools. They will need to go after a Catholic School coach or young public school coach that is not tenured and making money yet.

MC140,

You are right they don't pay well as Naperville or the Glenbards but the still pay pretty well compared to most public school districts and if you are willing to get additional degrees they pay very well. Plus the districts has put an emphasis on teacher retention so the pay gap closed with the new contract that went into place last year.

You go and watch your team regardless of if they're winning or losing, because they're YOUR team. When they're down they need your support even more... I've sat thru 2-7 and 4-5 seasons with my sons, and cheer like hell right now for our soph squad before every varsity game even though they're 0-5 while the varsity is 5-0.. It's just what you do for your team.

Of course...

Mine is a long term question. The rest of my whole weekend gains and loses energon based on the outcome of the game. If I go to a bar in Naperville after a loss the bartender can look at my face and say, "You look like the Raiders lost..." a win and its like a bar stimulus package.

and its why I always admired the guys who follow when theres not many wins. Its easy when youre 9-0 every year...

Here's a thought. I have 0 inside information, this is just me stirring the pot here.

What about Tim Racki? If WWS is serious, why not make an attempt to go get him? He's won what, 8 state titles? Can they give him a PE job or a dean of students job?

Would this be a bump in pay from Naz?

Or is he really happy in his situation at Naz and has 0 desire to leave?

If he's going to leave LGP it would be for a gig like WWS. It would be smart to go get him, but not sure how he pipelines players from Oswego to a public school...
