It wasn't until recently that Naz turned into a recruiting juggernaut, though. I had a nephew on the 2012 JC team. I watched a number of lower level ESCC games leading up to his senior year. Naz had a monster class when those guys were freshmen. They lost a number of guys from that class (Rompa etc.) by the time they were seniors. They were also hurt by Rudy Ramagnano's (sp?) injuries his Jr. and Sr. years. However, that class was the first indication that Naz was going to be a force to be reckoned with. They were big contributors to the Naz victory in 2011 as juniors as well.

So based on your stats looks like Sharp and Racki have never met in postseason play after a regular season meeting. The playoff rematch adjustments made by 2 of the best coaches in the area will be interesting to see.

I don't think past teams have much to do with this year's teams. I'm just hoping for a continuation of the 2-1-2-1-2 pattern.

Also, pretty confident in signs: JCA 2121 - Naz 2. Take that all you Naz guys, yeah. Now, someone fly me home. How can you GW guys have all that money and not fly me home and be my date to the game. And MW, the nerve of you. I still have 41k in law school loans to pay off. Sell that picture of you and Jesus and pay them for me. Gooms, don't get me started. What about Ramblinman, suddenly the stress is getting to him!

Yes!

So as a law I'm not a JC fan, however, I do believe that this team now is their best chance for a state title for awhile. That being said, I am torn between who to root for.

My son trained with Z and Tyler in the off season, so JCA?

But Corey, and Joe are good guys that treated my family and me very kindly, so Naz?

Either way, this imo, should have been the state title game.

I wish I didn't have work this weekend, I would have loved to have been to this game!!

Unless the NFHS network treats this like the Marist game anyone that can't make it (and is willing to pay a couple bucks) can watch at NazCast.com

Outside looking in for me but I just do not see how JC lose this game. Naz loses at MCC giving up over 300 yards rushing, over 200 yards allowed to the soph first time and now Davis is back and 31-0 at the half. Maybe Naz had people out , maybe they made changes but JC should be able to run right down throat.

Lol how quickly you seem to dismiss that Naz came roaring right back in the 2nd half and almost won that game. Or how Naz offense is clicking since that first half against JCA. Those don't help your anti Naz narrative though.

JC will have two starting LB's back that did not play in game one. One had been out since week one and the other was injured in the first series against Naz.

I'd say @DeanOfSelection is one of the more impartial members of the Edgy Kingdom. Not sure it's 100% accurate, but not malicious either.

Agree not malicious. Naz did out gain both MCC and JCA in those loses however. A couple of short fields did them in against JCA. @USD24 what impact do you think those LBs would of had on the 2nd half of that game. Naz threw the ball probably 50 times. Don't think a LB would have made much a difference. I expect a hard fought game.

So one that didn't play in game one and one that did and got knocked out. JCA's problem wasn't LB play in that game. Both teams are very good and JCA can just as easily win this game.

I disagree. You don't think missing two starting linebackers has any effect on a defense? I think they play a role in covering receivers out of the backfield, covering a territory in a zone coverage, rushing the passer. The one lb they lost is an all area type linebacker. Losing him is huge.

Naz would LOVE to see him covering one of their backs out of the backfield, mismatch city! He would however probably make a difference blitzing... But I f you guys think that the difference of one guy over a replacement means multiple TD's (like DOS thinks Davis is good for) you're crazy IMO.

This will be a very good game that either can win. Should be fun.

In most defenses, LBs have a tremendous amount of impact on passing game. With the schedule in the ESCC including 4-5 throwing teams, I would suspect LBs for JCA are active in coverage, with man or zone, and blitzing schemes, which cause problems in the passing game. Rare to see "strictly run" LBs in this day and age, but maybe in some of the run oriented conferences downstate?

Also, one of the LB's is an OLB, who is a bit of a hybrid DB/LB. He is one of their better coverage guys, IMO. We shall see what type of impact their return will have on Saturday.

also a D back out that game resulting in a CB shifting to safety.

the one injured in the game was our best cover and blitizing LB.

In any case, I'm not sure the previous game told us much of a real story, either way.

I got to ask you a question, how is DOS, or anyone else for that matter, who picks JCA to win, engaging in an "anti Naz narrative" rather than expressing an opinion?

I have never gotten the impression that DOS was Anti-Naz or anyone else. Just because DOS is not "Pro Naz" doesn't make him a hater.

As for the game: Injuries can and do occur that effect the game, they did last time and may again. With all the thoughts about great running or throwing games on either side of the ball and the high powered offenses and the high score of the last game only one conclusion can logically be drawn. It will will be an incredibly low scoring game.
