Best Player in the field: [Insert Sportskid901]
you're completely missing my point, I'm not downing who you all feel is the best player on or off the field, I would just like a little more info to why you feel that way; how did they impact the game; what do they mean to their team? Because if they are as good as you all suggest then maybe I would like to look them up and follow their recruiting story maybe even check out a game and be amazed by their hudl highlights.... I'm not questioning if Love or Aguirre are good players, I know they are. But when you put them on top of the totem pole when compared to other kids tell me why.... help me see what I'm missing..... that's what this board is for right? or is every one just suggesting their own Keith Dudson's....

Okay.

Aguirre reset the line of scrimmage consistently the first game. He's massive, and got push on every play. In addition to helping collapse the inside, he rushed the passer exceptionally on pass plays. He also did this against a very stout Nazareth line.

What are his stats exactly? I don't know. But I've seen tape of every JCA game save two, and can say his play is a large reason they were able to suffocate opposing run games. The front seven is very good, but as far as a player with size, strength, and quickness to dominate competition in a very tough schedule.

I never, anywhere, said Aguirre was the best player in this game. I said he's the best defensive lineman I've seen in years, that's my opinion, yes, and I've never gone beyond that. So I guess you are completely missing my point.

This is ridiculous...

Game is going to be fantastic. Loaded with phenomenal players who may of may not be the best players someone has seen.

I agree he is a very good d-linemen. Not at the level of some of the Montini linemen of the past few years. Thus, Montini's success vs. JCA. But, he is a good one.

You Naz guys and gals, its time to get off this subject and onto one that you have sorely neglected this year, and one that you all agree on......Montini.

thanks Epic, and I never said you said he was the best player, but you jumped into a discussion where as that claim was made by another poster. Anyways, yes I agree Naz did abandon the run very early, too early in my opinion, if they had ran more clock maybe the score would not have been so lopsided in the 1st half, but that's a different story....if he was the reason then that is a tremendous contribution by him, but that second half leaves me on the fence cause Naz was able to move the ball at will passing and I did not see much of a pass rush then, and when a big 1st down was needed on 4th and 2 in the 4qt Naz picked it up with ease..... I would like to suggest Devonte Dunn for the best D-lineman on the field that day. Reason: Dunn took away the power run game from JCA in the first half leaving all there running success to the wing back of the edge, he was just as destructive when pass rushing if not more, then the second half he completely shut down the run game of JCA allowing his offense a chance to battle back from a 31 point deficit, and remember the only successful drive JCA had in the second half is when Dunn was on the sideline resting..... also I see these kids at college camps often and so far every camp Dunn has won best d-lineman hands down. They are both great players but I would go with Dunn.

And what do you find ridiculous about this dialogue, that is what this board is for, right?

Harold Davis is a very nice athlete but Naz has a bunch of those. If JCA is going to attempt to win through the air that plays to Naz's strengths, JCA has above a 50% chance to win but if they do it'll be pounding it at Naz. Naz needs to spread the field and win on the edges so to say.

How did I miss this post from the biggest Naz supporter at Fenwick? Harold Davis found a way to score two TD's in last year's meeting at Naz, so he can have an impact on the game (1 receiving TD; 1 return TD), even with the plethora of Naz athletes on the field. Your response suggests that JCA will abandon the run game to pass, pass, pass. No one in their right mind is suggesting that. However, I do think Davis gives JCA another playmaker, who they did not have in the first meeting. Is it possible that he might get behind the Naz defense on occasion? Is it possible that with him on the field that Naz will not be able to concentrate as much on Michael Johnson? Is it possible that he will give JCA more options in the passing game than they had in the first meeting? Do all of those questions suggest that JCA will now become primarily a passing team and abandon the run? Of course not.

I didn't think I had to defend my opinions from a fellow Nazareth person.

No, but if you'd like to discuss things, broach conversation with something other than essentially "LOLwut". I didn't know how to respond to what...

Dunn is Samoan thus the long hair.

Somebody needs to inform the greater LGP area that Samoan's don't do the Haka. The Maori, however, do. They are native to New Zealand. Check it out on the internets. Great tool TheGoogle is.

Yeah I hear ya, it was a crude response, but I watched almost 100 kids work their A$$ off on the field for their teams during an epic game of sportsmanship and athletic competition. Then suddenly someone comes along and say my kid was the best player on the field that day with no explanation to why, lol was the least I could have said. Then to have others respond to his defense at how I worded my statement was a little off putting, just didn't add up for me. Don't get me wrong I am a strong believer in things like MVP and POY and stuff like that. I just think nowadays the honor is often awarded to the names we know and not the ones who deserved it. What can I say, I'm a rhyme and reason hardcore stats person...always will be, numbers never lie, so when someone makes a boast like that; tell me why. If they can't, they must be joking and if you are joking that bringing us back to the LMAO..... What?

Perhaps you could give us an example of someone who was not named MVP or POY who deserved it, but was overlooked due to lack of name recognition.

I'm done discussing this game... Every post is twisted (not mine, all) by every side. JCA is very good, Augierre is very good, Davis is very good. JCA won't beat Naz thru the air, can Davis make big plays? Of course but that's not what will be a winning strategy for JCA is basically what I'm trying to say. Either way I'm super excited to watch this game and nothing any jackass on this board (I'm the king of the jackasses this week) will have any bearing on the game. Good luck to both teams, hopefully the winner comes out of this game healthy because they will have a trophy to come if they do.

There are many players mentioned here and I believe all of them are exceptional and will be going to college for free, when you have that caliber of player there isn't much difference in who the "best player is" and it's really all in the eye of the beholder. DOS is not a Naz guy and takes his little back handed shots at Naz when he can, good for you DOS I honestly don't care one bit, but his analysis isn't wrong, it's just what he saw. You can ask 8 people who watched that game, that have no idea who the kids are, who the best player is and get 8 different responses. That's how much talent is on the field and how many different kids made huge plays. It's a pointless conversation that is going to do nothing but upset the biased people in this thread. Sportsmom obviously has a kid on Naz that is one of the ones mentioned in this thread. Mom, your son will go to college for free and is a very good football player, who cares what a bunch of bums on this board have to say? (Me included)

Fair enough. And in this newfound spirit of fellowship, maybe you should wish the Naz parking czar a nice day if you run into him (and not with your car) tomorrow.

I feel a group hug coming on.

Incorrect, I do not have a child mentioned within this thread, but why should it matter. and I agree there are not much difference between some of the best players, (that's why i go off stats) so if you make the claim for a player being the best, just explain why... and if you all didn't take DOS post seriously then why question me for LMAO at his joke and asking what did he mean... I also agreed most people don't know the players, but the ones who wants to learn about them come to this board for info about them so please explain your claims so we could understand why you make them and maybe learn about the kids we didn't know about. That's the point of the board right or is it just about taking shots at one another. And you have no idea who my son is or what the future holds for him so like most of the claims in these threads I'm wondering what are you talking about? Please explain your claims or was that just another backhanded shot.... but I will add this I also believe my son will go to college for free, the difference is my opinion is based of stats, and numbers.......

I know how to Haka too, but the way you phrase the post gives it an Al Jolson kinda feel. Know what I mean?
Haka performed by non-New Zealand sports teams ...

Am I the only person on this board that thinks JCA gets up early and never looks back this time? JCA may not have the names like Naz does but I think they are a better overall unit and that's what counts at the high school level.

he's the best d back in IL I have seen since dwayne goodrich and I were roommates at Michigan's invite camp...and to be clear...i'm talking about goodrich.

to be fair, here is what I wrote about Love after the game:

"...as far as naz's secondary...or whatever position Love officially plays, he really really impressed me with his ability to get to the ball carrier. Reminded me of a HS version of polamalu."

In my book, the best since Greg Williams of Bolingbrook.
The nightmare of Dergo has transitioned to just a bad memory and then let's me put him in the team picture.

sorry, but they do...... and numbers and films........ that's why they have camps it all has to add up.......
Oh so is James Robinson going to Alabama? Stats mean next to NOTHING to college coaches. Film, eye ball test, workout numbers, grades, character are what matter to most of team, last of all is high school stats. I can tell you're a special breed so I will end our back and forth right where it is, have a good day, good luck to your son tomorrow.
