Don't take this the wrong way, and I may be wrong, but some injuries made you guys better. I am wondering if you are better off without him?
The one thing it forced Cal to do, which he WOULD NEVER have otherwise done, is develop his bench. Everyone is going to look at the result and say that somehow Cal did this, when the reality is that circumstances forced this and he's benefiting, just like he benefited from his team taking the title in 2012.
We saw what happened in 2015 when he had the title in his hands and jumped up and down on it, crushing it to bits, leaving his second team languishing on the bench against Wisconsin while he did something they'd not done the entire season.
The backups that got playing time this year due to injuries to starters would NEVER have gotten that time, and as we saw for years, the team would have struggled for a few more games, and maybe just enough to not make the tournament, if the team remained healthy.
