#8 Monticello 3A (4-0) @ Albemarle 5A (1-3)
A year after winning the district, Albemarle only has one win going into a tough matchup with the undefeated Mustangs. Monticello has impressed as of late, especially QB Kevin Jarrell. Last year, Albemarle needed a FG as time expired to beat the Mustangs. Albemarle is still struggling to find it's identity. They played well in the first half against Louisa, with the defense showing signs of greatness, but the wheels fell off in the third quarter. So something's got to give this week, Monticello's offense or Albemarle's defense. Isaiah is a great coach, so I've got his team rebounding at home. Albemarle 24-20.

#8 Louisa County 4A (4-0) @ #23 Western Albemarle 3A (1-3)
Western was stunned at home last week by formerly winless Powhatan, maybe revealing the true identity of the Warriors. Still, Louisa needs to looks out, this was their trap game last year. Louisa has scored over 40 in each of their first 4 games, and they'll come out ready to rumble. However, Western's defense has been extremely good thus far this year. They're going to be eager to redeem themselves, they haven't had a win for their home crowd yet. Expect a rowdy, rough battle where Louisa pulls it out this year. Louisa 35-21.

#18 Charlottesville 4A (3-1) @ Powhatan 4A (1-3)
These teams have opposite overall records, but they are both 1-0 in the district. Powhatan returns home after it's impressive upset over Western. Charlottesville hits the road for their second straight, coming off of their poor defensive outing over Orange where they allowed 47 points. Powhatan's defense will be ready to play after only allowing 14 points to Domeq and the Western offense, but Charlottesville's triple option is a whole other animal. Still, if Charlottesville wants to be ready for Louisa and the playoffs, their defense also needs to improve, and they need to stop getting into shootouts. I think this is the perfect opportunity for them to improve defensively, and the Black Knight's get their first win over Powhatan in a long time. Charlottesville 45-28.

Orange County 5A (2-2) @ Fluvanna County 3A (2-2)
Orange is coming off a 47 point outing that resulted in a loss. Meanwhile, Fluvanna couldn't get anything going against Kevin Jarrell and Monticello, losing 50-3 The Flucos return home where they are 2-0 thus far this year, but Orange is looking to redeem itself, especially after giving up 57 points to Charlottesville. Orange 45-6.

Standings after this week:
1. Louisa 5-0 (2-0)
2. Charlottesville 4-1 (2-0)
3. Albemarle 2-3 (1-1)
4. Monticello 4-1 (1-1)
5. Orange 3-2 (1-1)
6. Powhatan 1-4 (1-1)
7. Western Albemarle 1-4 (1-1)
8. Fluvanna 2-3 (0-2)
