we would have 2 SR QB's in 2011 that can win games and also have Russell backing them up...finally giving us some QB depth

My understanding is that he would not have to sit out and would be able to play this year. All he has to do is find a degree that we offer that Oregon didn't. That shouldn't be that hard to do. It will be interesting to see whereever he goes how that school spins his past. Personally, I would take him. He would be the best QB we have had since Don Smith and fits in perfectly with our offense. If Mullen thinks we need him then I would trust him.

it would be worth it just to watch MSU76 "spin" it

And, we could never be called Thug U again, so it's got that going for it. I wonder if he could stay out of jail long enough for the season to actually start. The guy was a potential heisman candidate and most of their fans are very glad he's gone, that says a lot.

especially if he can be eligible this season...it would be worth a roll of the dice to bring him in because if Relf gets hurt we are screwed...make him room with an offensive lineman that would watch his *** and keep him out of trouble

We are our own worst enemy.

Also, Rosebowl is reporting that Masoli has expressed interest in MSU and there are a couple of hurdles for him before it can happen.

issues make things worse. I wouldn't want the USC/Arkansas guy either. Already forgot his name.

I'm concerned about chemistry with someone like Masoli. But, maybe more importantly, I don't want a repeat of what happened with Anthony Johnson. That little fiasco got Croom fired at least.

our best teams in school history had lots of character issues and future criminals...96 Final Four...99 football...every good football team has a few criminals on it

We need another QB badly...way too much pressure on Relf to stay healthy the entire season

And Croom got Croom fired- not Anthony Johnson...Croom's refusal to install a modern offense and the knowledge to coach it was his downfall

Team chemistry will be fine if he comes in wanting to play ball- the RB's and WR's just want the ball- they dont give a **** who gets it to them

I think there is a rule that allows you to transfer without sitting if you have eligibility left and are transferring to enter a grad program. That may be a possibility. But, I'm going to assume that since he went the JUCO route (I think) and has had as much trouble as he has had, then he probably hasn't graduated or isn't in a condition to enter grad school. Hopefully I'm wrong. I'd take him for next year.

I'm sure this is just another QB to add to the long list or rumored MSU transfers.

Who are we as a people to judge this young man based on "supposed" allegations? How can we idly stand by when there are those that would oppose his pursuit of higher education? I say we stand up for this young man's rights as an American citizen and support this young man in his chosen field of study while welcoming him to our fine university with open arms. For those of you that want to oppress this young man, you are not only hate mongers, but also racists. Let ye without sin cast the first stone, and judge not lest ye be judged yourself.

Kidding. But seriously. I think you have better guys with more time in the offense and he has what, 6 weeks to learn the offense?

As well as he did in a few games for Oregon, he only got a shot because the two guys ahead of him couldn't play. Russell and Relf are just as good if not better.

1. We have no QB depth- if Relf goes down we are 17'ed...Russell is not ready to be a starting SEC QB...I'm not sure Relf is and I know damn well Russell isnt as good as the guy that started the Rose Bowl last year

2. The guy has won games in a major conference

3. He played in a Spread offense- it's not like he would be learning something totally new...all he would have to learn is the new terminology and a few new plays

I'll just worry about your lack of intelligence.

By the way, that's a joke between myself and my friends. We say comparable things in a condescending tone when discussing "message board bear bryants."

is smoking crack. Have you ever watched him play? Whenever he is on the field, points will be scored. He may have character issues, but he's a kid. They all are. Anyone on that team can screw up at any minute. Hell, Georgia's AD got a DUI last night. I think Dan would keep him in line. Also, Masoli is a damn good leader on the field. We arevery competitive with this kid. If he ends up coming here(which he probably won't because we've seen this before) we need to welcome him withopen arms. We're not a program who can turn down kids like this. But we can useplayers like this to havea couple good seasons and attract the type ofplayers we almost had in the past. Haven't heard any concrete info about him coming here though. Isn't Dan the Man in New England right now?</p>

Masoli would start day one if he is eligible to play. Im sure Relf would be upset, but who cares Masoli is much more talented throwing the football.

would look like a sanctimonious, hypocritical douche if they went all Helen Lovejoy at the mention of Masoli's name.
So yeah, expect our fans to mentally implode.

Looky here. Someone gets it. I don't think that you have to have criminals and character issue guys to be able to win. You can have both good guys and win at the same time, but reality is you take talent over character all day every day and twice on Tuesdays.

My rule is always a sliding scale. You want a player as long as he gives you more on the field than he hurts you off of it. Once that scale tips the other way, you send him packing. In other words, if you had Reggie Bush, you pay his bail money and make him do a few extra sprints if he knocks over a convenience store.

since when did morals or values become a prerequisit to play college football ??? a lot of you guys talk about "paying" off players to sign with us ... now some of you guys indulge yourself by hammering a potential contributor to our program because he isn't a role model ???
