I don't care what anyone thinks. Put Detz at first and get someone else in the lineup.

He is absolutely killing us offensively. Yes the bloop double yesterday was nice, but that was more luck than anything, with the RF taking a bad route then stupidly diving. Unless Rea gets going, which isn't looking too good, we will continue to struggle.

He has no business hitting 4th while he's slumping. You might scare someone with his size on Friday night but that's about it.

It would have been a single if the right fielder had played it correctly, but it was always a hit because they were playing him somewhat deep.

They were playing him 7 feet deep in the outfield in the gaps. With runners on, that's a base hit.

It looked to me like he took a circular route to the ball instead of coming straight in. Since he just barely missed it on the dive, it probable he would've caught it had he not taken such a poor route.

Maybe, but it would have been very difficult to get to. The proper play was to play the single and we'd have men on the corners or maybe first and second and would be still down a run.

With the plays that RFer made all day yesterday...

Rea earned any hit he got in his vicinity, but I agree, if he doesn't start running into some consistent solid contact then it's gonna put more pressure to be perfect on our pitching staff than the 90's Braves staff could have hoped to handled.

Their RF gambled on making the spectacular play in both the 9th and 10th yesterday. Both were stupid gambles. There's a time to go for the diving catch and a time to give up the single. It worked out for him in the 9th and bit him in the *** in the 10th. He could have very easily put our leadoff man in the 9th on 3rd base with nobody out.

Yeah, he hit 7th on Friday didn't he? What did he do to justify moving up the order?

while i agree that wes has been really, really bad, i hesitate to put THAT much on his shoulders. he is a significant part of our struggles for sure, but our lineup top-to-bottom is chock-full of guys that cant hit with runners on and certainly with runners in scoring position. we are the type of team that excels at getting hits with two outs and no one on yet our nuts shrivel at the plate whenever we have anyone on that might actually threaten to score, ie at 2nd or 3rd.

wes is certainly sucking *** (is it too late to get him suited up for football practice?), but sadly, he is not the only one. i agree that it would be great to not see him in the lineup for a few games (along with a few other players i wont mention), if for nothing else, just to see what would happen. we need to think outside the box on our next lineup...like crazy mix and match because we are flouncing around like a fish on land and have been for a while now.

Wes is in a slump. Who is going to be any better? You play your way out of a slump. Part of His problem is He has no protection. Why throw Him anything good to Hit? Let see last Year he was great this year He sux, why is that. Damn a 5 tool player isn't hitting behind Him. Also he is the best defender on the team. It is OK to play a no-hitting Britton but you want to bench Wes. Y'all can all go eat a dog turd.

What does having a 5 tool player behind him have to do with him hitting? Just wondering. I just don't see a correlation.

I was actually thinking maybe it's time to give Rea to Mullen and see if he can get any potential out of him.
