Who's complaining exactly?

I do wonder about the situation for the drone pilot. Do they celebrate it then, and go have a beer right after work in downtown? Just seems strange, fighting a war from a computer screen.

I never complained. I think he needs to kill more.
My only complaint is that those guys deserve a more painful and drawn out death...bombing them is too quick...but I'll take it.

We celebrate it on the spot then spend another 6-8 hours collecting more Intel.

So, what is your response to Trump's recently released plan for ISIS that he finally announced last night. "I'll bomb the **** out of them" is the exact quote. Huge applause. But no consideration that ISIS is embedded in many countries, are among innocent civilians, an air assault of that magnitude requires other considerations with the military, no consideration of our allies and other countries throughout the world.....nothing.

Personally, I'm not surprised by his "plan" as it is just like all his other plans. Not very thoughtful.

Is there one person on this board who is supporting him? I'm certainly not and if he is the candidate I'm either not voting or voting 3rd party.

Why would anyone expect Trump,or any other Presidential candidate with the exception of Clinton, to be able to craft a detailed plan of action? I don't think they are privy to all the intel at this stage of the election. I agree with him, I would also bomb the **** out of them. Maybe some collateral damage would force some of the people who harbor the ISIS nuts to up against them. I also support how Obama is handling this at this time. I have no doubt he would also bomb the **** out of them if he gets the right opportunity.

I am not supporting him or anyone else at this point. I will support him IF he gets the nomination. If you do not you are willing to live with Clinton. Don't confuse my comments about his chances of beating Hillary as support.

I myself am certain some around here are in full support of Trump......like, for example, cement-heads like PATX or 3:16 or neilmont.......but who'll never have the seeds to own up to it on a Message Board (at least until such time as his only ballot alternative turns out to be Hillary Clinton).

In fairness, I'm certain they'd also be satisfied taping Cruz bumper-stickers to your (and my) ***; but right now, Trump still appears to represent the better comparative bet for the nomination (which could, of course, change dramatically before Cleveland).

Of course, I can't prove any of that......though I admit I wouldn't spend even 2 microseconds trying.

Interesting you bring that up.....

My next-door-neighbor is a USAF Academy graduate.....and three of his four children are also Colorado Springs -educated. Two are active-duty (his son currently pilots F16s.....and his second oldest daughter currently pilots cargo planes) while his youngest daughter is currently a junior at the Academy. The daughter who flies the cargo planes was previously in a unit who operated drones, and her Dad and I talked about it one day......that is, at least to the extent he actually could talk about it.

I recall him saying his daughter described it as nothing short of a surreal experience as a new "pilot"; that is (as you mention) piloting a drone in an actual theater of Operations from a computer screen 6,000 miles away. Like everything else, it becomes (to some extent) far more routine over time; but there's no question she had her finger on the trigger and was in a position to blow things up.

I honestly have no clue as to the kinds of missions she was "flying"; but I got the impression that treating these them in an completely unemotional manner was in keeping with their basic objectives.....which does make sense. I also don't know if she was aware as to the relative value of a given target at which she was flying; though, you'd think some kind of airfield or industrial complex would be fairly easy to identify in a practical sense as a high-value target.

But as for hitting Jihad John specifically, I honestly can't tell you if the drone pilot in question would have had specific awareness of the relative value of his/her particular mission. I'll have to ask my neighbor about that aspect.......

Once again you have proven your ignorance. I am on record as not supporting Trump. As I ask many libs, did it take you very long to get this stupid?

I'd guess that if ISIS comes to your town, you either tolerate their presence/support them or get executed. I doubt that many harbor them voluntarily.

in World War II, the Allies (including U.S.) bombed portions of a number of European cities to dust to roust the damn Nazi's. It was what had to be done. Had we not, countless American troops would have been killed going door-to-door. Would America have the backbone today to bomb the cities?

WW2 compared to ME troubles? Really?

Before one can even come close to answering, let's have the US and their allies including the countries being bombed declare war on the enemy. But problem is ISIS is not a country.

I doubt that many welcome them with open arms. However they have to show their resistance. Do you think we should send our men and women to weed out and destroy ISIS in the Middle East? I have no problem with providing the locals with all the resources, EXCEPT American boots on the ground, to help them. If some person can rally followers and create something like ISIS, someone else can do the same to resist ISIS.

You would think so, wouldn't you. But so far only one significant Muslim force is opposing ISIS and that's the Kurds … and they can't get enough help because it pisses off Turkey, and we need air base and overflight rights from Incirlik to carry out our current version of bombing the **** out of them. It's too bad we can't get the Turks themselves to really throw in with us -- they know a thing or three about being badass.

I have always wondered why we don't arm and turn the Kurds loose. I would say lets guarantee Turkey that we will protect them if the Kurds get into it with the Turks.

I didn't know it was Obama's job to keep France safe. Thanks for the info.
it's not. It's France's responsibility to not stick their head in the sand. Time to start kicking muslims out of their country. I certainly would stop all refugees.

Don't know if you picked up on it, but I've been flying these since 98. I've got close to 10000 hours on 5 different platforms (armed and unarmed), have deployed as a Marine and contractor in multiple theaters, and was our chief test pilot and Master Gunner for several years. I fly a desk now but have people working for me operating on 4 continents.

I re-read the thread, and realized I completely missed your previous entry......
