A member of the national media actually looked at the big picture of exactly what happened and what led to the events. Unlike the Forde jackass.

was the worst sports town in the SEC. He had a prejudice before the game and was looking for something to confirm it. Unfortunately, some students didn't help.

He prefers NYC and should stay there.

that guy (Forde) hates MSU/Starkville. I think he has bashed us every chance that he's had. I guess someone from MSU must have cussed his mom out one time?

If it weren't for the last three seconds of that game, Forde's article on Starkville being the worst basketball town would look stupid after the crowd showing Tuesday night. It looked like Starkville was one of the best BB towns. Forde jizzed his pants when things went south.

...but I thought he listed Starkville as the worst town period in the SEC. I think he had Athens was the worst basketball town. Could be wrong, though.

There is still no mention of how bad the officiating actually was Tuesday night. I just dont get why every single media outlet is ignoring the fact that there was a very obvious biast towards KY Tuesday night. I am in no way condoning what happened at the end of the game, and do not want anybody else to do that either, BUT it would be nice if the media tried to halfway explain why we resorted to those actions. I also feel that if eiter Byrne or Stans had said something about the officiating directly after the game and taken the fine, that this entire incident would not have been blown this much out of porportion. If this had been done, ESPN and other media would have been forced to at least address the fact that WE felt like we were cheated....instead, ESPN and everybody else reporting on the game, was able to comepletely ignore that major tidbit of the ENTIRE game.

He went so far as saying "I can't say what I really want to say." And asked several reporters and Greg Byrne ifthey would pay half of his fine for saying what he really wanted to say.

That's something that Byrne would deal with behind closed doors. An AD publicly criticizing officials would not go over well.

in the past, as a fan at the site of such a miscarriage of officiating, you could at least expect to hear your coach rail about it afterwards. if he was colorful enough, you could expect to hear it on SportsCenter. now, we all know nothing will be said, and nothing will be done. so, what outlet does that leave? bottles.

GB needs to attempt to explain to the SEC that the bottles are the symptom, not the disease.

if I were GB, i'd tell the SEC i don't intend to do a damn thing. the problem is the officiating, not the fans. fix the officiating, and the bottle problem takes care of itself. focus on the bottles, and rightly-irate fans will find some other, probably worse, way to express their discontent. i would publicly explain this. i would do it even knowing the SEC would not react well, that they'd punish MSU in some way in response, and the know-nothing enablers in the media would back said punishment. i'd take it, then wait for the inevitable repeat or worse to happen somewhere else. then release a one-sentence press release: "I told you so."

The behavior of the fans was atrocious, most everyone agrees.

But I've been saying and will continue to say that, while the behavior is wrong and individual responsibility has to take place, the behavior is going to continue, not necessarily at MSU but everywhere where the "little guy" continues to be abused. One has to realize, too, that the frustration didn't start at the game Tuesday. This has been building over the years but especially since the MSU football games in the fall where, in more than one game, game-changing inaccurate calls were made/missed. It happened to some of the bigger schools and those officials were suspended/reprimanded while officials at the smaller schools' games weren't even called out by the league as being wrong. The little guy (MSU) feels abused. Then, the whole Sidney saga has only further primed the pump. Finally, the big game Tuesday. The underdog, badly in need of a big win, was right on the cusp, only to see defeat snatched out of the jaws of victory. The big zit finally busted.

It's not just MSU. When struggling schools, or little kids on the playground, are on the verge of a big breakthrough and the bully comes along (officials, NCAA), there's only so much some people can take until they finally blow. How many times have we seen that in society? Going postal. Again, everyone needs to be responsible and act appropriately and I constantly teach my kids that, but people are naive to believe the irresponsibility will change. Because until the SEC/NCAA, etc., actually does something to address the root cause of unfair officiating, perceived or real, the little guy will eventually go postal on the bully.

Though no one in authority agrees, I think the powers that be have an obligation to ensure completely fair/honest/ethical officiating, for the protection of everyone involved. One day, somewhere, some official will probably be hurt by some crazy fan who will appropriately be blamed. Meanwhile, the status quo will continue and there will be little accountability expected of or any sort of blamed placed on the ones who are in power to change the current atmosphere.

After a terrific effort, your team lost the game....period. Don't try to blame the referees or say Kentucky gets all the calls. That kind of talk is reserved exclusively for LOSERS. Grow a pair, lick your wounds and man up. UK fans have heard ALL this **** before.Fact is,the 'Cats wanted the game more and made plays when it COUNTED! Teams with 10,000 seat arenas that lose close games always like tocower and cry that they are the "little guy", but when they do upset a power, then you hearhow awesome they are. MSU fans, take note: YOU lost because the other team scored more points....it's called SCOREBOARD. Growup and quit your crying. You came close, but no cigar.Great teams, like UK, win games like this even when they don'tplaytheir best. Anyway, that's what you get when you pull a stunt like the phone thing. Cousins played pissed and that spelled doomfor you. Thanks for the motivation.

than UK this week?17ing ****, there really should be a test required before somebody is allowed access to computer. Are we linked to their Spirit/Gene's Page equivalent? They've had thirty something douchbags come over and maybe one or two reasonable fans.I don't remember, but how many Bama sidewalk fans came over here and revealed themselves to be 17ing stupid the week of or afterwe played them in football. Were they this turrible?

My only hope is that these 17ers spend all their time on message boards and porn sites so theyaren't out polluting the Kentucky gene pool.

Some UK fans are the most passionate, knowledgeable basketball fans you could ever hope to meet. The rest are the infamous, mouthbreathing, frontrunning, Pikeville Community College dropout, Wal-Mart Wildcats, whose fanaticism is thankfully limited to one sport. I think we all have a good feel for what % of each type makes up the fanbase.

This glorious speech would have had a lot more teeth, if we hadn't been listening to you Kentucky fans whine about your inept basketball team for the last 5 years!!

That is what happened. Could you have won without cheating? We will never know. But from that game forward you will be known as cheaters and it is not MSU's fault. You are the people who cheated. Don't blame MSU.

Cousins should serve 9 months if found to have lied. Which he did.

I doubt you would be on this board if you didn't feel somewhat guilty about your blatant cheating.

You are now in the same ******* category as BYU. Forever a cheat.
