We’ve always had an in house NIL and it’s not any more deincentivized than it’s ever been. It just allows you to use the logo now. You have to have a licensing agreement like you always have before.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. What delays are there to deals outside of BBNIL Suite that weren’t there before? What are the new delays and hurdles? What do you have to back up this BS claim? Deals were always cleared by UK as they still are now to make sure there are no violations of NCAA rules or state laws. It’s just you people pushing a false narrative that hurts the program because you’re controlled by propaganda.
JMI bot #48 just wants us to believe his propaganda.

Jack Pilgrim said today he had discussion with various agents who expressed concerns about specific language in the contracts that players have to sign. Do you believe a “perception is reality” dilemma exists here? Regardless of how JMI intends the contracts, I’d say if agents have concerns with it, adjustments need to be made, no?

Brea, Williams, Carr and most of his first "class" were very coveted players. We managed to land almost everyone we wanted from the portal.

I know portal recruiting and high school is different but sometime between then and the end of the first season, the damn wheels fell off. Either Pope is the worst closer in history (and it happened over night) or something else is going on.

Billy G pulled 5 stars with nothing but the name but suddenly Pope can't with endless resources? I don't think so.

Bs. They were 2nd tier guys. We should be getting 2-4 5 star freshmen and 2-3 of the elite future NBA transfers like Yax. Vessar. Grahame Ike etc every damn year. This team should have Mikel Brown and Caleb Wilson types. But na we get some bum from overseas. A fragile PG and one ONE elite but injured superstar. It’s bulls*** and we gotta get out of that contract however possible and get a real coach like Pearl or bring Rick back. This isn’t acceptable

Back up your claim with some actual evidence if it’s true.

Again, you don’t care about the truth, just the propaganda.
Here’s the quote from the the Pilgrim/Polachek article:

”Kentucky is the only school I’ve dealt with that even has anything remotely like this in their contracts.”

This is what we have to go by. So to be clear you’re claiming that the article is fabricating untrue quotes? I guess UK is pushing back on this and JMI is suing for defamation or libel?

UK and JMI could clear this up really easily. When you get back to the office ask if your boss is planning on a press release so us horrible rumor mongering “fans” will quit asking about it.

This. We have very strong evidence that JMI is hurting us. The burner accounts refuse to acknowledge this. If JMI fully intends for players to have freedom to have deals outside of their contract, then they shouldn't have a problem addressing this issue.

We also know that other schools aren't following our lead on this issue. If our deal was so great, then other major programs would be doing it

I don’t know why you’re having so much trouble with this. Are you just doing this because it sounds cool to take an alternate view because we can’t “technically” show you blind study on the matter? It’s been silently leaking for a while now. Or are you asking what his post means only? Because I keep seeing you do this.

Mark beat Duke, a slew of rivals, was the talk of college ball, won the most games against a rival in UK history, was talked about as having a system players love / modernized and great guy to play for. On he’s got the UK brand where even tubby for the #1 class while actively fighting against the AAU scene. And he can’t sign ANYONE with a pulse.

That’s not going to happen. It wouldn’t be THIS bad. He might not be an ace recruiter but even Billy G pulled 5 stars here while he was beating them. Mark couldn’t be THIS bad. It’s common sense. The leaks have been saying agent don’t want them to sign away on the line over the contract. And it’s happening. Agents don’t like it and it’s unlike other place in terms of extra work and stipulations apparently. Just accept it.
You are right, complications in the wording of an agreement between the recruit and (JMI) is one excuse given for us not finalizing the recruit(s) coming here. The other excuse given, Pope, can't seem to get it over the finish line because he gets too emotional during the final part of the deal making session. Not arguing, just stating what has been said numerous times by KSR and others. Maybe we just need to accept the fact that other schools have money and, other schools may have charismatic, high energy coaches that some players would rather play for at this time. This year doesn't mean we won't get our share of 5 stars. It just means that we, probably, are not get them during this cycle. If either of the reasons above have true merit, then get them fixed immediately. Pope may actually be the hardest part to fix.

JMI is definitely harder to fix than Pope. We dont have a 15 year contract with Pope, thankfully.

If the University ever signs another athletic contract for more than 5 years we should disband the entire athletics department.

I think it’s mixed, but I think even Calipari might have had trouble recruiting here right now. I just don’t see how Pope could be THIS bad. Bad sure, miss 3 and sign one or 2. But miss them all? Every time? Especially given our NIL is top shelf, definitely top 5 if not higher? With the UK brand? It’s just hard for me to see it. I personally believe he wouldn’t be signing them all either way but as we see we’ve had top 5 guys very interested in UK including top prospects in the national. What happens? Why are they so interested then it flatlines?

looks like they want to come and they can’t get the deals done because they’re no bending in the language of that JMI deal. IMO this might be 25% pope 75% contract. Add it together and they just don’t want to do it. Why risk it when you can go anywhere for a well known coach and be your own man.

I still can’t believe they signed a 15 year deal when we have no idea what that contract means with regard to the NIL. Someone needs to be fired over it for sure. That’s insane.

Tell me about it. I've only ever signed two contracts that long in my lifetime (mortgage and marriage). I cant imagine committing to anything but my family for longer than a few years. so much can change so fast.

I'm convinced that the UK people involved in all these crazy contracts are just stupid people. How can anyone think signing a 15 year deal is a good idea, when NIL has changed dramatically just in the past couple years?

I know about all the vague qoutes from all the KSR guys. I know all about the vague accusations that came from them in their war against JMI and UK.

The burden of proof is on the accuser, you don’t get to accuse someone of something then demand they prove that they didn’t do it. So far their proof is unnamed agents who decides to talk to KSR and give them vague quotes that is UK is the only school to put something in their contracts? Specifically what is in the contracts? If it’s such a problem why not say specifically? It’s brilliant propaganda that’s gotten the majority of a fanbase to publicly attack its own program, accuse it of having questionable NIL tactics, only with vague quotes from unnamed sources.

Well our president is a corpse who’s from Alabama and doesn’t like UK being known for basketball? And our AD was brought in to get to football bowls and keep UK out of any issues at all, this is what you’re going to get. You’ll never see this anywhere where they take winning serious. Imagine an Alabama AD brought in to take from football and give to women’s soccer, brought in to create new rules for only your programs to go by, and stayed 23 years wile himself producing 0 championships. You’ll never see that and don’t understand how it’s happened here. The old ways were corrupt but toward winning. This is corruption but we don’t even get winning out of it. Just a new planetarium.

Does anyone including UK media have anything to gain by attacking JMI? Are they losing their ability to upload videos or have a radio show? Advertisers? Anything they did before that because of JMI they can’t do now?

You’ve accused them of lying. Can you show a reason?. And I’m open to that being the case, even though I have a hard time believing it. So why would they go to war with JMI? I know why from a fringe point but do you have more?

Matt Jones has been at war with JMI for years because they made him stop using the logo and didn’t give him the access he wanted. LOL at does he have anything to gain, he’s been at it for years. He has complete control of the narrative of this fanbase. He didn’t like Cal because Cal didn’t give him the access that he wanted, now a Hall of Fame coach who will have a banner hanging in Rupp is hated as if he commited a terrorist attack. Same for JMI who many don’t even know what JMI even does. He has a clear agenda, he and his KSR guys pushed this propaganda with zero tangible evidence of any of their claims.

Quote isn’t vague. There are stipulations in the contract that this agent says aren’t in any other contracts. What part of that is vague?

I’d love to be wrong since that would mean the company behind the BBNIL Suite aren’t totally screwing the pooch. So tell me the inside info you have that is causing you to so vehemently defend this deal and accuse me and others as having some kind of weird agenda?

My only agenda is trying to figure out why we can’t recruit for s***. If you know please enlighten us.

Right so he forced Pilgrim and Polachek to write the article? Would be really easy for UK and JMI to demand a retraction or even sue them if they are printing lies. Send them your info and maybe they’ll take down your nemesis.

Are you serious? The source and stipulations! What are the stipulations? Is it that you have to be a student athlete at the University of Kentucky? Is it something else, that’s definitely pertinent information that should be included in the article.

Question for JMI troll #48.
Players have to sign their NIL rights over to you guys.
How long do you keep them?
How can they get them back?
How do they make a NIL deal with a non-partner when they don’t own their own rights?
I thought the purpose of NIL was that the ATHLETE owned his rights and was able to monetize them themselves?
My question exactly, how can they have an outside deal when the sign their rights over to JMI? Pay them most of the deal? That will go over well…

You don't HAVE to use the in house NIL. But it is heavily de-incentivized not to, in many ways that have been discussed at length. Pay is one of those differences:

If you do an ad for a UK NIL partner, you get paid, end of story, no hurdles or hoops to jump through. It's nice and easy because that's the route they want you to take.

If you want to do an ad for an outside company, there are delays: delays on getting these deals approved through the NILGo process, and more importantly, delays on receiving payment (volleyball players on the team now have had to wait months for $20 checks).

It's just an extra pain in the *ss that players don't want to deal with.
Months for a $20 check wow.

I remember the logo stuff, but that doesn’t make sense now. That’s been ongoing for years and he’s done fine without any of that. He’s even gotten the access he wanted a long time ago.

It just wouldn’t make sense to me and when I consider a national beat writer telling me that it’s being talked about in basketball circles? I know you don’t have that information but if you take my word for it, Why would a former beat writer who’s now got no horse in that race say it’s hurting Kentucky according to agents he’s spoke to? Who works in the business btw.

How could Mark recruit this poorly? That’s essentially saying the contract is great, helps us even, but no top prospects want to play for a Kentucky coach who beat teams like Duke, nearly swept Tennessee (did in season), has the most wins against top 25 teams in UK history, runs modern offense players like etc. how could he miss THEM ALL. Has the UK brand - this Doesn’t make sense.

The score act didn’t pass and this contract is set up to limit the athletes abilities outside of our sponsors. Tennessee people have said that is NOT happening there.

Not a fan of Jones at all, but I can’t believe what you’re saying in the case. Jones has exploded without the branding on his show. He certainly won’t get it now, so why? Agents have said this contract isn’t like others. I don’t know what’s hard about that to understand. And btw Calipari gave him plenty of access early on, it wasn’t until Matt called him on legitimate sht that it was turned down.

Then why can't we land the elite prospects this year while under the new agreement? You are JMI in some capacity and you/JMI need to answer this question. A drop in and lack of performance since the new contract was awarded for what you are responsible for is on you to answer. If the AD is advising you to walk away from top prospects who want more flexibility, or visa versa, then that is even worse. The JMI/UKAA 'team' is underperforming. It is not working for the men's basketball team and anyone can see that.

Where do you get that you have to sign your NIL rights away? What authority does JMI have to make anyone sign their NIL rights away to them? You don’t even have to use JMI but you have to sign your NIL rights away to them? Where does this incorrect information come from? Let me guess, one of the KSR writers got it from an unnamed agent. Amirite?

It’s the JMI mole. He’s going to take you in circles.

“how do you know they did”

“JMI conspiracies”

“Matt Jones is mad”

he will not approach it and it’s just a waste of time. What about Jack Pilgrim?

“he’s mad at JMI”

This is starting to come out and it looks like JMI doesn’t like it.

Listen there is a major ineptitude here. Mark wouldn’t miss all recruits. Agents have said they don’t like the deal, they don’t trust it. Beat writers have sources saying it’s hurting our recruiting. It doesn’t take a genius to come to the conclusion JMI is likely hurting the UK brand in the world of recruiting. Point blank period. Little JMI moles and AD office moles aren’t changing that perception.
