Other top schools have the same NIL setup as we do so it is not a JMI issue
I read the exact opposite. Other schools do not have the same NIL setup . Jmi has been a known issue in recruiting since the new deal went in place. You guys just continue to deny it cause it doesn't fit the pope sucks agenda. Even other schools that work with JMI do not give them oversight of their NIL

It's very few schools I believe. Georgia just started one similar. But it is with Learfield.

Would have posted this over on HOB, but after this season in football and basketball as well as the board changes, I didn't renew. Anyone reading this feel free to post this info over there so more fans can see it.

Spoke to someone tonight who is well connected to some large boosters. Allegedly they revealed that the issue weith JMI is that JMI charges 10% on all NIL deals that players have. This even includes deals the players work up themselves. They also can't use UK branding on their own deals even though JMI is still getting paid! If true, I can see why agents do not allow the players to sign here. When you factor an agent likely charges 15-20% of all marketing deals from the player and then JMI charges another 10% that other schools don't, then this is pretty easy to figure out.
They also said that Pope is very emotional and snippy when he doesn't get his way. TIFWIW
I believe this isn’t you can show me all the top 20 recruiting classes he had at BYU, or are they using JMI also?

Question: What do you mean by "didn't renew HOB?" Also, what changes?

The reason I ask is because I thought that when you sign up, that KSR Board, Rupp's Rafters, and HOB were all included. I never got an option to choose. I think I subscribed through On3? IDK.

Also, it was way more expensive than I was led to believe. It says something like: Sign up to make an account for $1. Next thing I know I paid like $140 a year. So I complained, then it asked me to keep my subscription for like $59 instead.

Therefore, I can at least recommend, if you plan to renew, tell them you want your account cancelled due to cost. Then you get half off.

Zero evidence of this, but it wouldn't shock me to see Mitch and his team eventually get exposed for being massively corrupt.
I agree with you however it’ll never happen. He wasn’t the only one with his hand in the cookie jar and they’ll protect their own as long as they can.

“The issue with JMI” is that it only impacts basketball.

How nefarious is that?

Feel free to repost this on HOB.

I wouldn’t sign a 15 year deal for an exclusive soda brand. Much less for NIL contracts to run through one company for 15 years. Did no one stop and think damn 15 years is a long time if for some reason this doesn’t work out?
Isn't part of the 15 year contract because they are planning to build up, like, an entire entertainment district around the area, possibly concluding with a new arena location on campus?

Many music/sports arenas have this entire district with restaurants, parking, shopping, etc. I would assume JMI would be lead over this entertainment district and control what companies are established in it. Is that not the value of the deal to JMI and the cause for the contract length?

If construction projects are the involved, I would assume that is the reason for the 15 year contract.

I have no clue if this is true or not. Just things I have picked up from reading about KY.

However, that provides the logic for the deal and matches what I've heard about the future plans.

Yes, you do get all three and it wasnt/isnt about the money. My issue was the elimination of all the other boards like the football only, General Discussion, etc. Quite simply I like what we had on HoB and had been a member since inception. Heck, I have been a part of the UK message boards since the old Microtek days and Rainman in the 90s. But over the last several years football seasons sucked, basketball seasons sucked, and the bickering, bitching, and loss of true insiders bringing intel to the forum dried up considerably. I can get all of the same on the free board.....or on X.
