Depends on who is coaching and who is playing. JMU may be depleted from coaching change and transfer portal.
They won't have many full-time coaches for the bowl game (mostly defensive secondary coaches) from Cignetti's staff.

The JMU team that played in the regular season beats Airforce. However, don't know what JMU is going to be able to put out on the field and how the coaching change will effect them.

In fact it's true about most of these bowl games. Transfer portal means that many teams will not have their normal roster. Some players will opt out to protect their draft status. If you're not in the final 4 playoff, many teams just won't be the same team that played during the regular season.
Has JMU had any key players enter the portal and will not play in the bowl game? Losing the coach is not good, but I don’t think it is necessarily fatal.
