End of 2014 layoffs and possible layoffs have hit myself and some acquaintances. Am trying to look at this as a way to start a new and better career.

Anybody work for a good company that is hiring?
Any better options than the usual INDEED, CAREERBUILDER, and MONSTER.COM OPTIONS?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

What sort of work are you or your acquaintances qualified to do? What minimum hourly wage is acceptable?

I understand OP. In early Dec my employer told 500 they would be let go 1Q of this year, AND another 450 of us (including myself) were traded to a contracting company.
Have a friend at Lenovo, who thinks they will have a big layoff (& he is at risk) in Feb.

Best of luck.

I've been told that a lot of employers look for new hires on LinkedIn, so if you don't have an account there open one, and if you do have an account update your profile. You can also search for jobs in your field there.

Indeed and Linkedin is all I would use. Careerbuilder is a joke!!

What did your experience deal with?

I had the same happen in June 2013, and bounced around on several things just chasing what I wanted and not doing what I needed to make money. Happier now but still haven't hit an earning I want, getting very close though.

Point being take the time to focus on what you want if in the past you were chasing a check.
