Yes, but he made the Blue Jays out of Spring Training which warranted a Big League contract. And Nebraska fans are weird. Of course they will show up just to watch a former Husker.

Huh? Joba was not with Toronto to start the year.

Lots of busted up pitchers somehow get a second wind after all seems lost. Maybe Joba will be one of them. KC is probably the best place for him IMO, being close to home. If he can't make it there, he's probably toast.

I wish him luck. He was not a major league quality pitcher when I watched him with the Tigers.

Lot of hate over a organizational depth signing in here. Remember, the Royals pretty much cleared the Chaser's out of pitchers to get Cueto and Zobrist. Someone had to fill those spots... If he doesn't work out, no big loss, if he does work out, Dayton Moore once again looks like a genius.

What's the worst that could happen? Joba actually does well in Omaha, gets another shot at the bigs, and then either succeeds or fails.

I think the Royals need some bullpen arms to pick up innings during the expanded roster period in September, to give their top relievers some rest. Even if those "reinforcements" don't perform particularly well, KC could be better positioned for the postseason because their front-line relievers' arms won't have fallen off.

Nobody ever remembers if a team won 100 regular season games, but World Series flags fly forever.

No Collins (Tommy John) or Finnegan (traded) this year in the pen but the core three that played so well last year (Herrera, Davis, and Holland) are all still here. It feels like they need to add another arm to the pen but the reality is that this bullpen is deeper than last year. Yes, they've been a bit inconsistent lately but really I strike it up to the batters using better scouting and approach at the plate. I do think Holland's top fastball speed is down from last year...but there's obviously more to pitching than just using heat all the time.

They are far enough ahead in the division right now that rest shouldn't be an issue.

Jobe was throwing well in his first year with the yanks. Injuries ,attitude and tattoos seem to be strengths now. I remember an incident involving Mariano Rivera when Mariano ( the greatest closer in the history of the game) was being interviewed on national tv and Jobe was running his mouth nearby .Mariano always the gentleman motioned for him to dial it down. Jobe responded by telling the great Mariano " don't you be shussing me " Need less to say class is not one of his long suits.
