I like the group of coaches that Montgomery has put together to this point. With the hire of Joe Gillespie, I'm very curious as to how he fits into the grand scheme of things!
If there is a giant Montgomery Coaching Tree, the roots will run through Stephenville, Texas.Originally posted by D_T_:
Stephenville is where this entire thing started.
Me too. Well done, Dr. Gragg!Originally posted by Gmoney4WW:
I am so impressed with both our basketball and football coaching staff, I don't believe we've ever been this equally blessed with great staffs in both sports at the same time. If we can keep our staff's intact long enough, I am certain that we will beat that TU mantra of a great football team and a crappy basketball team, and vice versa.
I forgot that Cooper & Richardson overlapped, that was a long time ago. Heck I was a freshman in HS in '84. Thanks for reminding me. Realizing that, I would say we have come very close to matching the conjunction of those fantastic staffs.Originally posted by TU1NNJ:
GMoney - Not to take away from the current staffs but the overlap from 1980-1984 was pretty hard to beat. 2 HOF head coaches (Cooper and Richardson) and staff that went on to HC jobs (Marmie, Coker, Edgar, Stoglin, etc..) and many other assistants that have had great success in the college and pro ranks for years.
