IMO coaching in the NBA and college are two entirely different beasts. An NBA coach is more or less the team chaperone for much of the year where intensive game planning doesn’t become a major factor until the postseason. They don’t manage the roster but are mainly managing egos to keep everyone happy. A college coach has a shorter season but has much more going on day to day. They are the coach, GM, chaperone, fundraiser, and everything in between on top of dealing with a more immature personnel. A passion for teaching, ability to relate to all different walks of life, and scouting ability, are all needed on top of Xs and Os. I don’t believe Joe wants the WVU job, or any college job for that manner. He didn’t end up where he is in the pro game by accident.
