A pwerful warning to rapist enablers everywhere. Or, at least, those who have statues erected in their honor.

It should be part of the public shame Paterno's family and the PSU program should have to endure. Hell, they need to add a mold of a showerhead and Sandusky right next to the statue. It infuriates me that Paterno got away with this on this earth. He never had to answer for these atrocities. When he died, the truth about him was still hidden. He was such a prideful, stubborn man that he took it to his grave. He was a disgusting human being. I believe in God and hell. For Paterno's sake, I hope I'm right.

They're not destroying the statue. They're just moving into into a secure area for safekeeping. And they're keeping his name on the library. They're just taking the statue down to protect it and to try to deflect some of the bad press, while planning to put it back up in a couple of years when this all blows over. I don't think it's really hit them yet that it's not going to just blow over.

a cult. This is why the NCAA has to come down hard on them to bring them down to earth. They are still strutting around in denial and trying to divorce and otherwise separate the football program from everything else that exists in that remote valley of desperation, far from happy, so nothing really has changed. This attitude in and of itself is proof positive that they don't really care about any vestige of institutional control and even go so far as to blatantly declare that yes it is an entity in and of itself and everybody else be damned and they seem unwilling to give in to its dismantling.

Storing instead of destroying it was my first thought too. Makes one think they're not serious about the whole thing.
