Anyone know how he's doing and how the coaches feel about him? It just doesn't seem to promising to me that he came in as a Juco and is still not able to help the team this year on the lousy offensive line. Do we have some hope that he'll really be able to help us out next year after a redshirt year, or is this guy just a waste of a scholarship?

that the MRA kid, Justin Malone is really turning out to be a great prospect. Supposedly the coaches think he has the chance to be very, very, good. I met his parents this weekend and spent some time with them and they are great people. By the way I didn't hear those comments from his parents. Their biggest comment was how much a difference Balis has made in their son.

This guy has the body and the feet to be a big-time offensive tackle. He should have been recruited by everybody. The reason he wasn't is this:

1. Didn't have a lot of football experience, so was under the radar.
2. His first love was basketball. Questionable how much he loves the game of football.

He needed to work to get his strength to a football level, which Balis can do. If this guy wants to be great, he can be. The question will be does he really have the desire to be a great football player. He is fairly new to the game, so there was risk in signing him. His potential is huge, but he was far from a finished product. He was signed based on potential, not production.

I dont have a problem with that. It was a late signing to fill a spot and as long as he can provide some depth and experience his last 2 years, I am fine with that. The key right now is landing Glauser or another JUCO OT. <div>I am liking the Dylan Holley pick up more and more. That really brings some stability to the interior and lets us play</div><div>
</div><div>OG: Gabe Jackson</div><div>C: Dylan Holley</div><div>OG: Dillon Day/Tobias Smith</div><div>
</div><div>that just leaves the tackles and I really think we will have someone step up and be ready to roll between Muniz and Clausell. If we can add a JUCO road grader on one side and let those 2 fight it out for the other position, we will have made some strides. Lets be honest, Carmon, Saulsberry and Lawrence arent as valuable in talent as they are experience, so I think if we get the ones mentioned above we can at least replicate this year's talent on the line, which isnt great but at least not a complete disaster. </div><div>
</div><div>As someone mentioned we still have a lot of young talent that will get another year to develop: Robinson/Malone/Muniz/Clausell/Redmond/Knox/Desper/C. Carter</div>

He plays - I guess on special teams. Maybe on punts of field goals / extra points.

I doubt he'll ever start but I guess he gives us an experienced backup for next year after we lose 3 starters. We'll potentially have 4 sophomores starting next year depending on how Smith's rehab goes.

I was watching fall practice and saw an offensive lineman absolutely mauling people every play. When I checked the roster and found out it was Justin Malone, I was shocked. It was my impression that he was an nimble, athletic project and was soft, but he looked anything but soft in fall camp.

They now play for La Tech and do pretty well. For some reason Hevesy wanted Trapp instead. From what I hear he is a total bust and will never start.
