It is pretty basic when it comes to the portal. But......I think they already got sued over that, so not sure what he's ranting about.

17 him.
17 Saban.

They are a huge part of the current state of college athletics.

For 17s sake, Calipari’s greed and hubris was on full display as the master of capitalizing on the “One and Done” rule. And now he’s appalled at the state of college basketball?

Those guys raked in millions and made their bones at schools with elite programs and using massive booster budgets to game the system and load their rosters with elite players getting dirty money and benefits while everyone else was struggling just to get close.

Damn them. Hypocrites.

And 17 all y’all who want the likes of these guys to be czars who “fix” the system they helped break on the first place.

I am convinced that when Calipari was at Memphis and UK, he and his support crew knew the exact lines they could walk up to and had the ability to walk right up to those lines and not cross them. Instead, they knew how to indirectly cross them through relationships and connections that couldn't be easily proven.

He simply had too many people actively wanting him to fall from grace and willing to turn him in, if there was traceable cheating.

As for this recent rant, I am not sure Calipari's solution would be effective.
He is basically just advocating for something that used to exist....When transferring was still seen as a problem.
It was less of a problem than it is now, but it was widely seen as a problem even when the 'sit a year if you transfer a second time' rule was the norm, and even when the 'sit a year if you transfer at all' rule was in effect.

So his solution might help reduce some of the chaos, but it would still result in a chaotic reality.

It is a damned shame that ole Dick Nixon ain't around these days or we could have him clean up politics/government for us.

I think that’s all he’s saying. You made these rules, why are we not following them.

Yes, I’m aware that there’s been lawsuits

I know, I know it’s Calipari so there’s always an ulterior motive but he’s not wrong on alot of it.

17 him. He tried the same thing with Enes Kanter a few years ago, now he wants to be the voice of reason. If there’s one guy in college basketball with zero moral high ground, it’s that piece of sнit.

Like I said, I realize who he is. Point still remains.
