Not the best floor coach. Always brings in good talent and underachieves with it. Same guy just on a larger scale. Kentucky was head and shoulders more talented than anyone left in this field, no reason whatsoever they should not have a national championship. Cal let them hoist 3's last night, when they suck at it. And before anyone says I am saying that Cal and Stansbury are equal, I am not. All I am saying is that they are comparable, with Cal on a larger scale. With that being said I would take Cal's tournament success (or lack of thereof) either way you look at it.

The big difference is that Cal does a much better job at keeping the troops in line than Stansbury does. They are both "player's coaches", but Cal is just a much better salesman. Think about it...how he got some of that talent on UK's team to accept a role position is beyond my comprehension. There is no way in hell I could see Stansbury keeping the UK roster intact for half a season. To be fair, I suppose it's easier for Cal to logic low minutes knowing that he can tell his players their time is coming after half the roster is drafted at season's end.

One other key similarity: poor free throw shooting. Yes, people - that goes on the coach if it's a long term trend. Free throws are 95% mental..buy them a 17ing book. Make them shoot until they pass out. It can be done.

just hit none of them, but they were wide open a lot. And WVU made it hard to get easy buckets close to the rim. Games like this when your team is full of freshmen isn't very surprising. I know I expected it to happen. I'm not saying Cal is a great floor coach, because he isn't, but he's not terrible.
