Why do Ole Miss fans hate John Fourcade? I cant post the screenshots on mobile but if someone can pull them from the No Holds Barred group on FB you cam see why I'm asking.

Edit. Got it to work, I think. You'd think Ole Miss would have tickets for a former reb.

As an old time State fan I will say I still hate that SOB. Not sure why the OM faithful do.

If you took a poll of State fans over 55 for their most hated Reb, he wins every time. I hated that trashy sun of a *****.

Didn't he have a dirty-*** brother who played linebacker for the rebels? Keith I think. He deserved his own hate. One of my favorite memories from a game in Jackson was watching Forcade throw a pick-six on what could have been a game tying drive against Arkansas 1981 i think. Just him and that DB running down the field and the DB stiff-armed his dick in the dirt on the way to the endzone. lots of tears in the stands on that one.

Rebel QB from the early 80's. He beat us at least a couple of times I think. I was young. He was a cocky sumbitch.

Give us a backstory on who this cat is

Demonstrated typical bearshark class after scoring the winning TD after dick pace made one of the worst pass interference call in the history of college football.

Yep...he is not necessarily hated but totally despised by us old people.

John Fourcade only came through in the clutch against Mississippi State

He was a braggart who couldn't back it up....except for Mississippi State. Even Ole Miss people couldn't stand him...he was from Gretna, and the Rebel faithful thought of him as a (derogatory term for) Cajun.

The only reason I'm convinced that he was a failure in Five Pro Leagues after leaving OM, is because none of his opponents wore Maroon.

He's on an obscure sportstalk show here in New Orleans about twice a week. The CTE sounds like it's kicking in with this guy or maybe he just sounds as dumb as ever. He makes his football picks and he comes off as some Joe-at-the-bar-idiot butchering the English language.

Don't know why they do, but He is my most hated Rebel of all time.

I do like the fact that he admits he was paid while at OM in the last line.

He sums up what it means to be an Ole Miss Rebel more than anyone.

He went on local TV and basically cussed OM students for not voting him Col. Reb (Mr Ole Miss). Even said he put OM on the map and they were ungrateful.

One year, when OM ran on the field to start the game, he broke off, ran down the State side shooting the bird.

He really should have been Col. Reb, because he represents all they are.

OM fans don't hate Fourcade. They are Fourcade

Why do Ole Miss fans hate John Fourcade?

I'm at work and can't devote the necessary time to lay all this out with dates, but go and look up stories about OM in the weeks after Freeze resigned. CHF showed up at a Rebel QB Club event in Oxford, glad-handing everybody and slapping backs like he'd never gone away and nothing had ever happened. Fourcade was the loudest of Rebel voices asking WTF? He kept asking and kept getting aggravated at OM's refusal to sever ties with CHF. I'm sure this got his name added to Chuck and Yancys doo-doo list. From there it was just a matter of time before the Spiritards starting flinging poo at him

I didn't want to click on this topic knowing this would be brought up. Unfortunately, I can still see that punk waving the ball around after he "scored" like he had done something. Never been nauseous leaving a game before or since.

Maybe Fourcade isn't so bad after all.**

Sidenote: I've heard similar reports of Freeze showing up at church laughing and joking like nothing ever happened, the week after all the stuff came out. The guy's self-awareness switch is apparently permanently 'off'.

didnt the guy basically throw his own name in the hat as a coach when Orgeron was fired?

I remember him flipping us the bird before the egg bowl in Jackson. Him and his brother weren't good enough to get recruited by LSU, but they were pretty good players for the Rebels. His brother was a linebacker and he was quarterback who wore #1 (says a lot). Got a phantom pass interference call in the endzone and the next play he ran in for a TD to win the egg. I wanted to throw up. He played QB for the Saints as a SCAB during the NFL strike and did well. I'm glad he was calling out Hugh Freeze for still being affiliated with the rebels, maybe he has turned a new leaf.

Fourcade has often been a very outspoken opponent of eliminating some of Ole Miss' more "southern" traditions. This probably makes him unpopular among the NAFOOM type crowd but I don't think he's universally disliked in the Ole Miss family.

I remember Keith Fourcade was captain for the 1982 Egg Bowl. When the Rebs won the toss, they asked what they wanted to do. Fourcade had been told to defer to the 2nd half. Instead, he said "We'll kick".

Before the Ref could ask, "are you sure?", One of the State captains, a special teamer, jumped in and said, "We'll defend this end", ie, the end with the wind at their back. THAT'S why we received the kickoff with a 30 mph wind at our back. We won 27-10.
