He better stay in college as long as he can, if he loves all this attention because he'll be an afterthought once he hits the pros.

That's what I'm thinking too. I don't see him being nearly as successful in the NFL. In fact, I think last year will wind up being his best college season.

He tweeted this right after he deleted the on in the OP. I'm sure hanging out with celebs and your model gf is such a hard life compared to the rest of us.

Sure it is. They may blow up in the coming years with this stadium renovation and all, but they are far from a historical power. Nowhere near a place where 4 and 5 star guys line up to redshirt.

**** they ain't even on Auburn's level as far as a historical ag land grant type program.

Texas A&M is not primarily an agricultural school. It's also one of the most highly endowed public universities in the country...and it's not small.

They have well over 50,000 students (more than 3x what we have... and twice what the next SECW school in line has.. LSU)... they are a traditional A&M college, but they have had more money poured into that school than half the SEC west put together. They were just caught up in a political struggle with UT Austin that they are now out of, but they are far from a push over.

They don't have Alabama or Texas' history, but they aren't some small school with no history. They are also in a state that can hand pick who they want and a school with the resources to do it.

Not that this is relevant to the original point, and not that you're wrong in your statement in any meaningful way, but

They (TAMU) have 52,500 students, MSU has 21,400 (more than 1/3 of TAMU), the #2 SECW school in terms of attendance is Bama (33,600), which is more than half of TAMU. LSU has 29,500, which is also more than half of TAMU.

Their 2011 endowment was ~$7M. The combined endowments of the other six SECW schools is ~$4M

Since we are calling each other out haha... I was going off assumption... I knew A&M had well over 50,000 students or so... but thought it was even more than 55,000. A few years ago, LSU was larger than Bama, so I'm a tad surprised there.

But to correct you, TAMU's endowment is about $7 BILLION... not million. MSU's is about $345MM. Bama and LSU's is about $700MM.

I stand corrected. I misread the chart I was looking at. I thought the numbers sounded really low for the endowments. When I read your original post, I thought your numbers sounded a little inflated, so I decided to look them up. You were actually pretty close.

I failed to look up numbers before I made that post, but the point stands, someone who says A&M is a small school because they aren't a "football power" really doesn't know what they are talking about. A&M is a sleeping giant and has been for years. Let the right people get in the mix, they will make Alabama look like EMCC looks to us.

He wouldn't be talking that smack at Alabama or USC. Or even Texas. Coaches can't let behavior like that slide but unfortunately in Texas A&M's case, they know their hands or tied, this guy is their program right now.

Seems to be a recurring theme there.

Texas A&M is a second or third tier football program in a small town with no real tradition outside Johnny Football. And he knows that. OK, so they aren't a small school, but they are an ag school that hadn't ever won anything. Coach has to be able to control these primadonnas until he's able to convince alot of them to sign with them, at which point he will have the power.

with no real tradition outside Johnny Football.

You lost any ounce of credibility with this statement here. TAMU is the definition of football tradition in many aspects... they may not have the titles to back it up, but you are kidding yourself if you believe there is no football tradition in college station.

Also, where's the recurring theme? I was pretty damn close... missing only the fact that Bama has a few more students than LSU. TAMU still has a **** ton of students (one of the largest schools in the country... largest in the SEC) with the most money (one of the largest endowments in the country... $7 Billion... largest in the SEC by over $3 Billion). My point is still totally valid. TAMU is not some kind of second-fiddle football school that makes a bowl game every once in a while and no tradition. If you truly believe that, you don't watch much college football.

And you're questioning my credibility. Run along, I think you need your sippy cup.

College at a smaller school? Er...
sure they aren't a traditional power, but they also aren't some joke. They have been a well respected school and program for years. Decades.

Are they USC? No.
Are they Bama? No.

But they don't have to be some historically dominant program to not be considered 'small'
