What bothers me most about Jordan's comments are that #1, he is willing to say it, so that seems like the team control is not there by the coaches and belief, and #2 - the culture by coaching staff is not setting the expectations and #3 - there is dissension in the ranks and mutiny of some buying n and others not and does not seem like accountability.

Geez. How are we supposed to get behind a team of quitters? It all starts up top

If a player is not giving 100% and he has quit on the team, 2 games into the season, pull his scholarship and send him home. If this is true, it's evident that Stoops has lost control on the team.
And that he recruited soft kids....

It's what I stated after last weeks game, when the players lose confidence in the ability of the coaching staff to improve the team, they will start bailing.

When certain players stop respecting the coaches and their team mates, it's nearly impossible to turn it around.

This is TOTALLY on Mark Stoops!!

If you watched the game, it was very obvious! There has to be a lot of dissension on this team, just as there was last year.

Not a big fan ragging his teammates publicly, should have said this to the team behind closed doors IMO

I'm not surprised. At least they are telling us so we can quit watching. I just don't see a point in wasting time watching a team that has already mentally forfeited the season.

UK football just completely confounds me.

Who goes through spring and summer camp only to quit trying 1 or 2 games into the season? It makes no sense.

None of the situation makes sense. It looks like bad (very bad) coaching, but then the assistants leave here and have success elsewhere. Or they came here with some level of proven success. What is it about being here that makes the coaches suck and the players quit?

Doesn't just reflect poorly on the coaches but also the players.

That was kind of what I thought. If your unhappy with your coach I understand, a lot of us are, but what does it say about the players if they just give up and quit? Not much IMO. I think Stoops deserves what he's getting, but I also know it's the player's who have to keep trying or we may not win but 1 or 2 games.

Stoops' teams have all been marked by dissension. Every year.

He can't get everyone on the same page.

I think that, unfortunately, this is also a product of our program. I think when you are a team that is used to winning then you expect it and even when you get kicked and you fall down you are able to pick yourself up as a team and you make comebacks and win. However, when you're used to losing and things start to go wrong it is much harder to pick yourself up and defy those odds. You become a product of your nature. That is what the entire program has to overcome. They have to learn to win and always be confident that they can win. Stoops has not proven that he is the guy to instill that confidence. It's time to move on to someone that can.

Coach Stoops has failed miserably in convincing his team that HE is capable of fulfilling the hype he was selling to his players.

His in-game coaching has instilled DOUBT in the players. Once hope is gone, then the players will to work hard will soon follow. That's what we are seeing now.

By the players checking out only 2 games into the season, this tells me that this program is in even worse shape than the horrible performances on the field have shown.

SAD

I was hoping to see the first half team that played against USM put four quarters on the field against Florida. Having visited during our game I came to respect what KY is trying to accomplish. I see your concern about players quitting on the coach and recall us hiring Ellis Johnson after our 12-2 season. The team lost faith is his coaching ability and that 12-2 team (most players returning) was quickly an 0-12 team. When a coach loses a team's confidence then it can be a disaster. Hope for the fans sake that Stoops learns how to coach on the same level that he's done as a recruiter. Talent is wonderful but without leadership even that talent can fail. Good luck the remainder of the season.

If you wanted gold standard dissension on the team and locker room, it was just handed to you on a silver platter. He better keep his head on a swivel during practice because he included every player on the team which many won't take too kindly

What is Elam so mad about? He is showing more fight over a card game than the football game.

But the reality is these are kids and they are demonstrating the same attitude as so called fans. The fans, just read the board, have quit the team. And these are mostly adults.
The other guys may have told him "There is no 6 ft. sub coming."
