He’s just not a confident guy and unfortunately he projects that by being intimidated by assistants that can actually help NU.
That might be it!

I think NU is just "too big" for him, like at Temple no one cares, at Baylor no one cares.

At NU fans care and question his hires and his moves and I think it freaks him out, which I totally get, but maybe that is the problem.

Since special teams is 1/3 of a successful program, if Rhule brings Foley back he is either lost and does not learn from past mistakes or is desperate

I have no idea if this coach who is leaving is any good or not.

Maybe Rhule has something up his sleeve. But dang, so far the ST situation seems like a hot mess. Feels like we are about to get another Satterfield or WR kid coach and told to give him a chance.

Strange that a HS job is better than a college job. But perhaps money is not all that important to the guy. Its a private school so perhaps pays very well. Sadly am fast losing my interest in Husker football and frankly for all of college football these days. Guess I am becoming a dinosaur, LOL!
I personally knew one former D-1 FCS head coach who left a college job to take a high school job in Florida. More job security with way less pressure. His son was on my son’s hockey team. He was approaching 60 and just wanted to coast in to retirement with a 150K salary. He started coaching in Wisconsin and knew Coz and BC from their early days. He wasn’t a fan. IF I remember right he was on a staff with Coz early on.

Martin was not the answer. People forget that he was on the staff when special teams sucked two years ago. Personally I think we need an outside hire.

Appreciate the insight… I didn’t realize Martin was under Foley as well.

I don’t know how Rhule can say we will be better at ST next year right after he said he would likely hire internally. Does he honestly think one of Ecklers subordinates is better than Ek? I am trying to give Rhule the benefit of the doubt, but the man makes it difficult.

It is so dysfunctional. When asked about Eckler, Rhule said “I don’t know….“ He was literally in the dark about one of his coordinators as rumors swirled. Compare that to Kubiak taking the Raiders job. They asked head coach MacDonald about his coordinator leaving the team and the head coach was fully in the loop and able to talk about the transition. Not Rhule…. He sounded dumbfounded and a bit defensive when asked about Eckler possibly leaving.

I dont know what Ekeler is going to do, he has a choice to make. That isn’t out of the loop. If I tell my boss that I applied for a job at a different company but haven’t made a decision yet on what I am going to do. My boss isn’t out of the loop especially if they offered me a raise 3 months ago that I haven’t accepted yet.
I get being out on Rhule, if that’s your stance. But not everything is drama filled.
Secondly - when Ekeler left Tennessee they replaced him with the special teams assistant. Their special teams remained pretty damn good. Humphrey was with him in Tennessee and Ekeler brought him to Nebraska. So Ekeler clearly thought he was a good coach.

($123,600), assistant special teams coach Josh Martin

And he was going to be promoted to full time special teams coach according to Rhule. You think he'd be making a lot more than a high school coach.
Definitely doesn't come off as a guy who wanted to stick around. Applying for other jobs and taking a big pay cut. But there's worse things a coach can do than coach at a place that is easy to win games at. Just a stepping stone-- NU and this "Christian" school.

This doesn't resonate with young kids, do you think Cignetti ever took the feelings of the opposing team into account when he was pouring 60 on a ranked opponent? It doesn't resonate with assistant coaches who understand the attitude kids need to adopt, and has thus led to massive turnover and failed hires.
Frank Jr.? Hell yes, he takes their feelings into account. Don't know who he is? As Frank Jr. said, "Go to Yahoo and type my name and click search the web!"

It really isn’t rocket science. Maher is a very smart guy. He’ll probably be fine. Get the right snapper and kickers. Don’t over complicate things with your schemes

After the 3rd or 4th coach that has quit in the last 3 weeks, isn't it time for the lame ***** media to ask Matt, "what is going on here"?

You have the most cuck energy I’ve ever seen in my life.

Does you wife let you have your balls back at Christmas?

Funny you didn't say anything when you were sitting on your bedroom floor playing with your little cock in your hand as I was giving your wife the time of her life. But get on an anonymous message board and you are a big talker.
