Brackets are out for this and all four wrestlers are listed. This is a pooled tournament with a crossover match IIRC, so most guys will get 3 or max 4 matches. 2 or 3 in their pool and then one crossover (if there is an A and B pool in their bracket). If I'm wrong, someone can correct me (that's your cue Corby).

Rankings by FLO (in red/bold) or WrestleStat if UR.

  • #34 Connor Pierce - 149 Black Pool B
Gets #31 Richie Fedalen (Columbia) & #28 Kaden Kaiser (App State) in his bracket. All the matches in this side of the bracket should be competitive. Possible crossover opponents include #6 Cross Wasilewski (Penn), #70 Nate Lucier (Binghamton), or #122 Cole Rhemrev (Indiana)
  • #276 Joe Sealey - 157 Black Pool B
Gets #37 Kai Owen (Columbia) & #46 Jon Ley (Navy) in his bracket. Possible crossover opponents include #23 Jimmy Harrington (Harvard), #104 Fin Nadeau (Binghamton), or #211 Owen O'Connor (Army). Hopefully he wins his side of the bracket and gets Harrington.
  • #57 Sam Beckett - 165 White Pool B
Gets #84 Jon Martin Best (West Virginia) & #58 Paul Ognissanti (Penn) in his bracket. Possible crossover opponents include #87 Alejandro Herrera-Rondon (Clarion), #95 Marco Albanese (Binghamton), or #152 Davis Park (Navy)
  • #163 Dawson Bundy - 285 Green Pool B
Gets #163 (tied with Bundy) Dom Iaquinto (Navy) & #135 Joey Schneck (Maryland) in his bracket. Possible crossover opponents include #124 Ethan Miller (Lock Haven), #132 Adrian Sans (Hofstra), or #163 Max Ohamuo (LIU). Lots of #163's in this bracket.

Wow. I was about to post something similar to your first post and then He gets the fall. lol. Crazy

Something is off with him.
Yeah that match is certainly not a blueprint on how to be successful at this level.

Joe needs a little more Connor Pierce in him.

BTW, unlike you, I probably wouldn’t be surprised if that match went either way the next time they wrestled. Despite it being far less competitive than the Evans-Valencia match prior to the scrambly action that ended with Owen on his back.

And if the Evans Valencia match went like the Sealey Owen match, I would have zero issues with you describing it the way you did. But it didn’t. You just conveniently left out the fact that the score was 7-6 when Evans scored the match winning TD - on a pretty sweet setup actually - just so you could bolster your argument with the guy who took a shot at Swiderski. And you’re probably enthralled with Valencia as well, not that he’s isn’t going to be a great talent he is.

But representing that match - Evans Valencia as “7-1 and then Evans got lucky with a feet to back with under 10 seconds to go “ was a purposeful misrepresentation whether you want to admit it or not. Seriously, no one “who follows wrestling ,” as you put it would watch those two matches and consider them remotely similar.

It matters little but it is entertaining to follow your posts which are fairly consistent in one aspect.

Dice it's not a big deal and doesn't deserve 4 paragraphs. And you paint me as an Iowa fan so why would I be sticking up for Swiderski who was an Iowa St wrestler who's now at Oklahoma st? Those 2 programs are big rivals of Iowa. Would love to hear your logic on this one .

This headgear rule is going to be a cluster this year. Navy kid just got penalized a point wrestling Bundy because his headgear broke for the third time and he gently tosses it off the mat after he walks to his coach to get a new one. Could have been a big point- it was 1-0 at the time - but didn’t turn out to be.

But if they keep calling it like this it will happen in a big match and be a deciding factor. Why the F this has to be a point of emphasis I’ll never know. Refs have had discretion on UC forever and generally do a great job. With the exception of the Nazareth guy last year, lol. But you can’t cause a cluster like this will be because of a very few instances of poor judgment.

I have been racking my brain trying to get to that thought of who you remind me of. For those that know, it finally hit me.

What else do you have going on an early Sunday morning? 4 paragraphs SHOULD take you less than a minute to digest and it didn’t take me much longer to write. You should be thanking me for spicing up your coffee time by the pool, next time I’ll write 8 if you want.

Last I checked ISU is in Iowa. Those guys all look the same to me.

I don't know which team you favor, but your frequently passive-aggressive posts suggest that it's any team not named Penn State.

I'm okay with it, though. It must be difficult for many wrestling fans to accept that a new world order has emerged in their sport.

Connor Pierce looks like a Penn State wrestler in the way he goes about a match and presses the action and is not afraid to mix it up. Clearly the time in the room has made him a better wrestler. He would start at a lot of schools (including Iowa 149 in my opinion).

Joe Sealey looks like he has lost some confidence. A lot of guys talk about how humbling the room can be and for someone like Sealey who had a lot of success coming in it may be messing with the mental side. I’m
glad he is sticking with the team and hopefully he gets back to his old ways. He gave Lockett
a good run in the US Open this summer and has the tools to do well. Hope to see him in
more opens and some freestyle tournaments this year.

I agree, just treat it like the bat flip. You can get away with it but if it's excessive you get plucked next time up.

Corby, I really appreciate your perspective on wrestling. You share good information and seem pretty well informed.

But you also seem to like to stir the pot, and like to get the final word after doing it. Maybe reflect a little.

Did we ever get the old posts from Rivals? We should get ChatGPT on the case on how Corby went from valued “insider” poster as west2east to an angry “peace out” based on one relatively innocuous post/comment, to Willie cohost, to angry “peace out” based on not reading the sterilaser warning label, to passive-aggressive posts here, to everyone thinking he’s an Iowa fan to Dice and his frequent frenemy bromance. Might make an interesting after school special style movie. 😂

I know I don’t speak for everyone here, but I don’t mind guys like Corby dropping in and making posts that don’t fit the mainstream narrative on this board. As far as I’m concerned, it’s entertaining to read the banter. Also, it lets us know that when we post stuff that is meant to bash Iowa and Iowa fans, someone is reading them.
