I didn't want to be the first one to mention it, but I've had a feeling something wasn't right. It's entirely possible he is hurt again so I don't want to jump to conclusions because he seems like a good guy.
So he's hurt right after his dad and "camp" have been unhappy with Pope? Lol, ok. And Pilgrim did say a mid-season opt out wasn't off the table.

Pope needs to have 1 on 1s with every player, look them in the eye and find who is fully bought in or not. Play Reece Potter and Braydon Hawthorne if you can’t find enough bodies that still want it. I’m sick of the shenanigans.

Won’t win playing guys that aren’t bought in either. Might as well play people who want to play for their teammates. Look at last season — whole better than the sum of the parts. This season — we have some of the parts lol
I could at least respect that. That's one of the reason last year's team was fun. Those guys probably never thought they would ever get the chance to play at Kentucky, so they appreciated playing here. I wouldn't want that roster every year, but I had pride watching them play. Not this year's team.

Yeah id say hes probably done. And he very well be hurt enough to truly miss this game, but theyre also just going to shut him down. If youre him or his camp, why rush back for this team and coach?

^ Exact mindset issue why I’d worry about having a OAD freshman as your best player. Mock draft has to be a consideration for these kind of guys. I know JQ is a Sophomore but it’s the same idea

I just want to say (regardless of the inevitable speculation), I hope it's not his knee again. I once had a former player re-injure after months of rehab. Felt terrible for him.
I know his father wasn’t happy a few games back.
