It seems we are better without JQ. Same for Lowe. They are both defensive liabilities on the court because the offense just goes right at them.

Moreno won't be able to play like he did last night in every game, but if he can give us anything close to that going forward then we will be fine. If we need fouls we have Garrison.

I noticed that Jella seems to have a pretty good passing ability. Why not put his up top and run the offense through him like Amari. If his man backs off then maybe he can finally get it going from outside. That would take care of Lowe's absence too.

Im not saying he should be done, im just giving my prediction on how this will go.

That said, NIL doesnt stop players from stopping playing. Peterson from Kansas was highly speculated to shut it down. Just because players get NIL now, I dont think that stops players from opting out to prepare for the NBA, sadly.
If I am paying someone to do a job then I expect them to fulfill their obligation. Start paying them weekly or biweekly and then if they shut it down the payments stop, just like it would for the regular folks on their jobs. If he's hurt then I'm sure their was some insurance type compensation for him like work man's comp.

if Moreno plays like he did this game we dont need him
We still need him, if he plays to his potential he’s the best defensive big in the country. He is raw, but can get lobs and make moves most big men can’t. If he is played in the correct way he would be a force with Moreno. We would have a legit good front court then. No D could be energy and rebounding again. Which he is good at when he wants to be.

My granddaughter had the same injury almost to the day as JQ. She had the ACL surgery and after one year, she was cleared to go back to playing.
After a couple weeks of playing and practicing, she started getting swelling in her knee. PT, time off, ice and it took another several weeks and she ended up OK but she was never the same really.
The real bad part in her recovery was all the downtime hurt her mentally and when it was time to go back, she decided she had enough and wanted to just go to college and not play softball in school. Real bad thing from all that was not getting to see her play college ball but seeing her this Christmas wearing her UL school BS!

I do not think JQ is at that point but the swelling is the same. This going to be a "on again and off again" situation I believe.
