Is anyone else getting the feeling that this game is gonna be kinda like an extension of summer practice in that after the JSU game is over, Mullen will finally announce his starting 22? It almost seems like this game is gonna be our tryout to finalize our starters for the rest of the year. Croom usually announced starters fairly early, but Mullen is playing it pretty close to the chest. I think in terms of competition and motivation this could really help keep us focused if everyone realizes that they arent given a position and that they have to continue to work the whole year to keep it. I know last year Jamayel Smith and Aubrey Bell should have been cut cuz they sucked so bad, but they were pretty much guaranteed a spot, so it didnt really matter. Doesnt seem like that will be the case this year.

I don't expect him to ever name a "starting 22". His philosophy, and I think it's the right one, is that he will play the people who are best prepared for the game. So your starters will only be starters for that game and then they are back fighting for their position in practice.
