Heath Hutchins and Chris White are sticking to their commitments. Pernell McPhee, Maurice Langston, and Sean Brauchlee will apparently be signing as well. This comes straight from one of them.

Shoring up the kicking game it appears as well as some talent at receiver. May be old news but I'm too lazy to look it up on here.

Supposedly Langston's best quality is his return game. I wasn't overly impressed with his video. He was good, but nothing earth shattering. He would be the last player chosen among those 5 if you ranked them 1-5.

agreed, but langston should prosper in mullens open field philosophy. McPhee is a beast, could be best pass rusher in MSU history if he lives up to the hype. Brauchle and Hutchins are AA which is going to be a huge boost obviously in the kicking game

McPhenom is a good one, but the best pass rusher in our history???? That's a distinguished list.

Hey, if you're going to mention the Arizona Western crew you can't leave out Danny Snyder.

we just signed a bad cancerous batch and that was the end of Jackie...I think we should sign 3-5 a year myself...having 6-7 on your team at once isnt a bad thing and they can shore up holes you have

He said this in 2000, before the tailspin. Besides the fact that signing JUCO's can be such a crapshoot, I seem to remember that the NCAA made a new rule around that time that made it harder for JUCO's to transfer to Division 1-A Universities. Whereas we were getting JUCO's in for the Spring Semester and giving them a whole Spring to practice with us, now it's much tougher to do that.

It wasn't signing Jucos that eventually caught up with us, it was totally relying on Jucos that caught up with us. We had so much success with Jucos that JLD and Jackie got a false sense of security with them. They didn't develop high school linemen or corners. Demetric Wright and Kory Banks didn't equal Robert Bean and Fred Smoot. But more importantly Syder, Nash, and Oyefosbi didn't equal Alvin McKinley, Wille Blade, and Dorsett Davis. And anybody with a pulse realized that when we signed them.

Juco's are no more a crapshoot than HS players are. Probably less of a crapshoot actually. The key is to stick with MS juco's. When you see MSU heading out to Arizona Jucos to fill needs, then look out.

And the word is that all of the players expected to sign on Wednesday will be able to enroll this spring.
