Judge Declares Mistrial in Clemons Case

I wonder on what grounds? I'll be a little surprised if they try him again. They got their grandstanding over with when it was brought to trial. Now I'm sure a retrial would be "a taxpayer burden".

Can't we just get on record something like "this guy appears to be at least a showboating, grandstanding dick [lawyers might want to dress that one up a bit] who might have tried to extend his impressive playing career by ways that were, at best, against the rules of his sport" and go on with our lives? Baseball has embraced certain shades of cheating in it's storied history, and we all know that congress has more than its' share of liars. Just say that everybody who played baseball in the late 90's until some arbitrary date (2004?) used steroids elephant testosterone stem cells from Ted Williams frozen head "performance enhancing drugs" and call it a day.</div>
