No offense, but I hope MSU got a helluva a discount to do the jumbotron at this time. I mean seriously, tough to justify spending XX millions for a football jumbotron and tying up the capital for 8 month in advance of it actually being used....yes I know yall might get to use it for 1 game or so, but still doesnt seem like a smart financial decision.

Byrne thought it would be farther along at this point and already generating revenue. Also, it will be easier to sell ad space next season if we've already shown its capabilities.

If the ad agency, marketing executive, or business owner who makes the decision to purchase advertising through the space has a television at home, which is a safe bet, then its "capabilities" are pretty much a foregone conclusion.

If your sales people need screen shots to sell the spots, then you need new sales people.

I hope we spend a good bit to make the supporting structure look nice. Ole Miss's looks like they skimped on the columns and such and it makes the whole thing look cheap.

I was trying to be optimistic about hte location of the thing. However, just based on that picture, it was way to close to the field. It looks to be taken from the 20-30 yard line. No way you will be able to see it from the 10-goal. </p>

$6.1 Million was the original figure released to the public. No idea if it's reached "XX Millions" yet..
