Junction tents late getting up

I noticed several tents in the Junction still in the "lowered down" position around 8:30-9:00am Saturday. That is unacceptable. If you're going to set a tent up in the middle of the Junction, behind a national TV broadcast, get your *** out there before the cameras are on. "It was too early" is a loser's excuse.

Also, there was definitely space remaining in the middle of the Junction. Expect none of this will be an issue this week with the game time and higher profile game, but it was an eyesore on the aerial shots.

i agree with it looking a little sparse in there. what's up with that?? it used to be jammed packed with tents?

I attribute it to the 11am start but putting out a tent in prime real estate on Friday then not using it before the game....seriously?

It has been a mad dash to get to the outside edges, leaving a ton of room inside, which makes little sense. During the broadcast of the game they showed a time-lapse of the tent setup, and the edges were slammed with nothing in the inside.

Didn't seem to be nearly as many students out there as there usually are. Bulldog Bash + 11am kick... Not making excuses for them, but it just didn't setup well for a good showing from the students.

Junction gets more sparse every year. I think it started a few years ago when the older crowd moved out of the Junction and let it basically become the student section of tailgating. I've thought that the middle sections have looked disappointing for a couple of years now. Like this past weekend the Junction was sparse but every inch of space around Barnes and Noble was taken.

I thought the same thing when I started watching the SEC Nation show. Lots of people but weak in regards to tents in the junction. Gameday started early in Oxfart and they were not late showing up. Pick it up tent people.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but just saw this picture Chris Fowler tweeted out. Why are these red areas empty? Looks bad if there are gaps like that on national tv, even at 8:00am. Maybe some of the Bell island folks will come over for this one.

I wondered if that was where people discussed the drainage issue on another thread. FIX IT STRICKLANDZ!!11!!!

Maybe the university should set up dummy tailgates there, kindof like WWII ghost army******

So long as it doesn't rain this week it should be good. But if it rains anytime between today and Saturday it will be a mud pit there.

We could always do like UM and astroturf it.
