If State had hired Gus Malzohn (sp?) as OC, would Pegues have been moved to part time QB (wasn't he a QB in high school) and be running the "Wild Dog" offense? If Pegues were given that kind of opportunity, would he be an also ran in the Hiezman talks?

Gus Malzaln wanted to chunk it around while he was at UPig....the wild hog was pretty much forced upon him by HNutt....why do you think his HS players transferred from UPig....

Actually, Malzahn does run a no huddle but it is a balanced attack. Malzahn left Arkansas because Nutt and the Hering (DC) were disrespectful towards him. It was widely rumored Hering would only refer to Malzahn as "high school". Also, Nutt was HC and OC his entire time at Arkansas until he was forced to hire Malzahn. Nutt didn't like it and never gave Malzahn full reign. So, Malzahn leaving had more to do with Nutt being a dick rather than offensive philosophy.

If MSU had any shot at Malzahn as OC, we would be stupid not to take it. I am not sold on him being a HC just yet. However, if we had no other attractive experienced canidates, I would gamble on him as the HC if I was Bryne. The guy has won every where he has been.

Malzahn and his boys from Tulsa are coming to Arkansas in a couple weeks and many people in Razorhog world are scared Tulsa is gonna score about 50 on them with the offensive scheme that Nutt told Malzahn "might work in high school but won't work in the SEC". Nutt's pride ran a good OC as well as a good QB and an amazing receiver away.
