Just another reason basketball will never catch on in the South...

And it was a legitimate look. To me it looked like there should have been 0.1 left but I don't think they could technically get a shot off with that little time anyways.

1. They weren't determining if the shot was good, they were determining if any time should be left.

2. How in the hell does that have any bearing on why it wouldn't catch on in the south.

While it was very clear that the shot was good, it was not clear that no time was left on the clock. It's the nature of the game, and I have no idea how having to look at something like that is any different from taking 10 minutes to review a call in football.

But then again, football has never really been big in the south either**

...by the refs which further grind out the game; "officials' timeouts" for any little petty grievance. Then top it off with making a whole arena sit around for at least 5 minutes to determine the winner of the game.

This is why in our part of the country, until Jesus returns, 85,000 will go to see a football game while 9,000 will go see a basketball game.

125,000 will wait out a 36 hour rain delay and 2 hour stoppage of the race for an epic fire and repairs to the track. So your saying NASCAR is going to fail in the south.

...since it's never gonna catch on. I wonder how UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Florida, etc.do it with no fan support.

Not to mention, we've all seen longer delays for dumber reasons in football too.

First of all, each team gets 5 timeouts PER GAME, which you might note is less than the 6 timeouts that each football team gets. Second of all, you're still discounting the fact that there are reviews in football that also take 5 minutes, just like basketball, except these are generally more frequent throughout the game in football than basketball.

I might also point you to the Michigan St/Wisconsin game this past year where fans had to - you guessed it - "sit around for at least 5 minutes to determine the winner of the game" after the hail mary touchdown.

Just accept you made a dumb point and stop digging a deeper hole.

A totally outrageous statement based on something you didn't understand, thus perhaps validating your outrageous statement. But, still a bad post...
