For those of you who have never been , I highly encourage it. Good time for the kids if needed , good interaction with some players and coaches. Touching on a few high points, Balis is earning his paycheck no doubt! These guys look to be in phenomenal shape, stout stout stout.

Mullen was finished with his autographing session and was ready to exit stage left ASAP. Understandably so, the line for him alone was extremely long today. We managed to catch up with him as he was leaving. Although staff directed us to leave the area, he saw my young son, football in hand that he wanted signed. Mullen dismissed the staff and not only signed for him, he asked the wife and I if we wanted pics with the kids. Classy move.

For those that have not seen the utter size of Chris Jones in person.......dude is a massive human being.

Our receiving corp surely has the height we have been hearing about, nice.

Lastly, I've seen many pics of the stadium expansion. Pictures do not do this project justice. It absolutely felt like I was at a completely different stadium than the one I had been to since I was a kid. The previous east side expansion has NOTHING on this. It gives the stadium a totally different vibe. The size alone is far and above what I expected. The west side bricking looks much better as well. If I knew how to download pics from my iPhone to SPS, I'd post the field level pic I took facing the expansion.

Just thought you guys might be interested in a few bits.

If you go back up anytime soon

go to south endzone Seal Bldg and enter the door on the east side of it, usually where the visiting team comes and goes from, its always unlocked. Walk up stairs to the second floor and take in the north end zone view. We were up there two weeks ago and it is an awesome way to see it.

That was locked today....

Construction crews were there and working. I was actually told "I wasn't allowed to enter the premises per safety regulations " , which I can understand. However , I had to see what it would be like entering from the locker rooms both home and visitor. That's where I took this pic. Close as I could get today. I guess extra precaution was in place due to fan day.

Fan Day

Just saw this thread & had to add to it --- we were in a similar situation with Mullen. After getting pictures with Bully & going through the offense line it was about 3PM. My kid wanted to jump in the inflatables again so we did that. After a few minutes Mullen came over in the area waiting on his kid & a few others to finish playing. He was just standing around talking with a few guys - I think Wayne Madkin & Porkchop. After a few minutes I walked over & asked to take a picture with my son. I felt like a real dick because this was after "fan day" was officially over - and I can't remember the last time I asked anyone for an autograph / picture but figured this might be the only chance to get a pic with Mullen & my son (even at 3 he recognizes Mullen as "coach").

He said sure, I snapped the picture, took maybe 15 seconds of his time. I know it's a little thing but meant a lot to me. They could have easily told me sorry, no more pictures or whatever.

Mullen and the players, including the volley ball team, were very accommodating, posing for photographs and patiently signing autographs. Like kired, I caught Mulen a little late but he graciously posed for a photo that included my grandchildren.

It was a good day.

Thanks, MSU.
