Just back from practice: Here are some observations to chew on from the 2nd and 3rd strings...

1. Perkins and Carr were the two standouts. Perkins can make some sick cuts and Carr was putting some nasty moves on defenders.<div>2. Russell was looking pretty good. His passing was accurate, but some of the guys were having a hard time making catches. </div><div>3. Favre was very mobile, but as far as passing, he wasn't doing much more than chunking the ball. He made a few good throws, but made a few that would make his uncle proud. </div><div>4. O-line was a big concern. Take that with a grain of salt, however, because it was 2nd and 3rd string, but they were having a rough night picking up blitzes. The RBs made a few mistakes picking up the blitz, too. Defense brought a lot of guys, especially against Favre. </div><div>
</div><div>Practice ended on two minute drills and the defense won both. They left a lot of receivers open deep, but because they were able to get to the QB, they were able to blow some plays up. </div><div>
</div><div>Again, it's practice #2, so take this with a grain of salt. </div>

but your observations are accurate. <div>
</div><div>First things first though...We looked good on the hoof and seemed to have good work ethic.</div><div>
</div><div>Favre didn't impress today. Neither did Russell for that matter. Favre actually looked bad. I think he completed 3 or 4 passes during the 2 minute (1:45) drills.</div><div>There was funny moment when Tyler got sacked (damn near full contact) by Harrison-Gay (I think). As HG was lunging at him, he yelled "get down mutha17er" and then rolled TR. Then Chris Wilson bitched out HG. That caused Mullins to laugh and under his breath told Tyler that he MIGHT wanna be faster. Guess you had to be there...
<div>
</div><div>The practices do seem to be more inTents than last years at this same time. The pace is awesome.</div></div>

The Mullins comment was hilarious. Russell has lead feet in the pocket. He looked a little better out there tonight than he normally does, but that may just be because they aren't playing full contact. <div>
</div><div>The pace is unreal. It was wearing me out just watching them work at that pace. Everyone got pretty much the same number of reps and it was moving at lightning speed. Great work ethic by the players. Wilson was all over his guys tonight though. Hopefully that will translate to a defense that plays with a fire under their ***. </div>

but he has got a decent arm. He's got to make quicker decisions- it's that simple. If he makes good, quick decisions- he will bridge us to Prescott next season....

It's early, we'll know more in the scrimmages</p>

Twice, someone came unblocked up the middle and several other instances, they were able to get to the QB off the edge. aGAIN, it's the second practice, it was split, and it wasn't first string, but our O-line has got to get better at picking up blitzes and stunts. It's that simple.
