That MSU won't be playing LSU next year. A&M coming to the league has it's advantages after all... Presuming we can actually beat em

LSU is the team I want to beat the most, that can't happen when we don't play them but Zach Smith will be happy.

..we need some SEC relief. They pretty much consider State as a fairly certain "W" year in and year out. As much as I hate it, it's pretty much accurate. By dropping them, we will still have one of the toughest conference schedules. Texas A&M would seem to be a natural rival for us, since the two schools are somewhat similar curricula wise. We are building a legitimate program while Louisiana State is vying for the national championship perennially. Louisiana State should pick up Georgia or Tennessee in our stead. It's a matter of equity so to speak. I also understand that the Black Bears will tentatively come out from under playing Alabama on an annual basis.

You can't have a "true" champ unless everyone plays the same schedule. With close to half the schedule being against the East and with potentially huge differences in how tough each team's East schedule is, how can you have a true champion? And yes, if we don't play LSU in 2012, it will be just for 2012. We wouldn't miss them again until 2019.

The PAC 12 has divisions and they play 9 conference games, if we go to 14 teams we either play 8 conference games with6 against the West and 2 from East or 9 conference games with 6 against the West and 3 from the East... I just don't see how you can have an East and West and not play all of the teams in your division every year. I can understand it for next year with A&M, but that's it....

I think we're at 13 for a while. We're not adding Missouri because that would destroy the Big 12 and it's in the SEC's best interest if the Big 12 stays together. We're not adding anyone from the East not named FSU, VA Tech or UNC, and none of them are leaving the ACC any time soon (or ever). The SEC just isn't going to take a pay cut just for the sake of getting to an even number of teams. That's just not going to happen.

As for not playing all the teams, in 7 years you miss 4 games out of a possible 42 against your division opponents. That's pretty damn close to playing everyone. This really isn't the big deal you're trying to make it.
