Just had a thought which may get lost in the big bubble thread. But I think it's VERY
important to consider. Please feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong.
Forget the Ole Miss scenario for a bit. Let's say that lose to Arkansas and to Tennessee in the tourney.
Will the SEC only get three teams? I say no way in hell. At a minimum we get 4. So we get left out right? Not necessarily. Florida will lose to Kentucky Saturday and face Bama in the SEC tourney. If they lose to Bama, they aren't getting in the tourney. That's not ideal. We would prefer to beat them outright. At that point, our RPI would be better, we split with them (away and neutral), and our top 50 wins would be similar. Not to mention the committee would have our beatdown of them fresh in their minds.
This assumes we beat Tennessee on Saturday, may be a HUGE problem. '
So...in short, if we beat Tennessee Saturday, our really like our positioning. I can't believe I'm saying this.
