State starts to show life with Mullen and Co., and the cowbell issue arises. Makes me optimistic.

Those two run the conference. If they both complain about something, then by golly something has to be done about it.

it certainly didn't help us having the week off before playing the Tide last season. Its almost laughable that a team that hasn't lost a regular season game in 2 years would make an issue of scheduling.

so no one cares. People forget. Also, I'd have to guess that your coach encouraging fans to break the SEC rule, and seemingly your administration too, doesn't help. And that started last year. It is not, "oooh, they are getting better, we better get rid of those wife calling devices"

I personally don't care much one way or the other. Hey, some fan bases need sort of a handicap feature in place to get loud.

But I know for an absolute fact a wealthy Rebel booster who has spent much time, effort, and money writing letters to Slive's office, the NCAA,and going on radio shows bitching and complaining about the cowbells. Thats what 41 points and a beatdown's worth of ringing will do to some folks.

I know we all get fired up when our AD our coach show support for our tradition. However, our administration comes off like it's telling the SEC to %#*@ off. That seems to me to be the best way to get the hammer brought down. Itwould be muchbetter if the administration could say, "We try to discourage it, butit's not feasible to search 50,000 people, so what can you do?" As it is, we have no defense other than trying to convince them the rule needs to be changed, andthat's a fight we can't win.

With a losing record nine of the last ten seasons, there must be more to it than simply apprehension about a winning future.

Let'sjust say he is enormous in size, extremely obnoxious, and not an actual alumni of the school. If you spend alot of time in Oxford, I'm sure you are familiar with him.You can mock me all you want, but I know this guy well(not by choice). I would rather not say his name, but I have good reason for that. He also has talked about getting a patent for a Rebel Bell, and that is no 17ing joke. Flame away.

so when you beat Ole Miss, the SEC says we can't have that, and they take away your cowbells.

You know how it is. We're one of the SEC's favored programs.

Then you have the SEC come to you each off-season and just ask if there is anything they can do for you. If Alabama had cowbells as a tradition, the rule wouldn't exist, and coaches would get fined for complaining about it. Alas, you're not Alabama, so you are at their whim.

Jeopardy answer: Not a prayer's chance in hell

/the question could have gone a number of ways for state fans of course such as: Will Mississippi State ever win a national championship in any of the big three sports? Will the fat girl from the Rowdies not get on camera for one entire game in the 2010/2011 season? etc.
