-There was occult activity on the top floor of Montgomery Hall in the early '80s. I was in high school in Starkville at that time and was able to go up and see the room a couple of times after there had been a satanic ceremony the night before. It was bad freaky and I definitely lost sleep over it. A big pentagram drawn in chalk on the floor, blood spattered around, candle wax puddles at the 5 tips of the pentagram and little charms and trinkets lying around. The people that work in that building say they hear and see weird stuff all the time. Most of the custodial service personnel refuse to work there at night.

WTF?

I spent most of my 6 years at MSU in Montgomery Hall.

Montgomery Hall is where our Landscape Architecture and Landscape Contracting Departments were located from the 1970s-late 1990's. MH was the campus library, originally.
The top two floors were condemned when I was there, but we snuck through the drop ceilings to access the roof on several occasions. Never saw a pentagram or ghost, but there are some freaky gargoyles mounted (very loosely) to the front peidimont top exterior facing McCool.

Stand back from Montgomery and study the detail in the masonry brick work and arched windows, you can't find that level of craftsmanship today.

I too spent many an hr in Montgomery Hall late 80's- early 90's. It really sucked pulling all nighters but the trade off was getting to catchI got the sunrise. The walls of almost solid windows gave an incredible view of the campus.
Probably a good chance we know each other Allday.

It is supposed to be haunted.

I have heard that the janitorial staff refuses to work in there at night, but I don't know that for a fact.

I think it is all administrative now. It was renovated a few years back. The egg room (arching back side of the building) now has full floors in them. This part of the building was never used beyond the 2nd floor because of fire code. It originally library stacks. When LA was located there the back part was closed off and only used the front (side that faces McCool) because it had concrete stairs.
They added an elevator and a stairwell that was built on the exterior of the building opposite of the cafeteria. It worth a walk through of you remember the old Montgomery Hall.

I'm not a believer in ghosts of dead people themselves, but I do believe in a spiritual realm chock full of demons and such. If there was a place for them to lurk, it would certainly be around a place where morons are attempting to worship satan. People ought not mess with that crap, ouija boards included. I notice in the other thread you find an interest in that type of thing, proceed with caution.

Something is definitely wrong with that place. During 2014 season, went to game that ended late at night. My wife and daughter hung out at tailgate and saw an orb or something there and took pics. There's pic with a set of blinds down and the next pic they were up and then a later one they were down again. Freaked them out bad and they were pretty shaken when I returned.

Do you think it was just that someone was in there for some reason and they couldn't decide if they wanted the blinds up or down?

still weird tho
