First off, way to do your job KV, even though this probably pisses off the brass in the AD.

Secondly, it looks like the only extra benefits that Sidney received were:

Some extra shoes, socks and t-shirts from Reebok. (Reebok sent entire AAU team's gear to Father Sidney, Father Sidney distributes to team, there is some extra, Sidney gets it. I would do the same to my kid.)'

A Reebok agent paid for hotel rooms when Sidney went to Arizona State and Texas on unofficial visits.

The rest of it is Father Sidney trying to pimp his son. There is no way you can hold Sidney accountable for his father doing crap when he was a minor. If I had a superstar football playing son, that was a sure-fire NFL prospect, and I went to the bank to get a loan based on this, I would be the scumbag, not the son.

I don't believe the NCAA is really making that big a deal about the "excessive" Reebok gear or even the payment of expenses on the unofficial visits... It appears to me that they are trying to make a statement that the Sidney's, particularly Renardo, lied to the investigators during the meetings... Looks like they are trying to say "Hey, look, you didn't give us the facts straight so we're gonna make an example out of you"...

I think the University should forgo the appeal process and try to have him re-instated... Could happen before the season ends(not likely though)... Then somebody needs to stay in Sidney's ear and explain to him that he will not be high on teams drafts boards and should return next year to get his draft stock back up... This will be a hard sale for him seeing as how he will have sat out an entire season and be ready to get back on the court even if it meansplaying overseas(which at this point appears to be a real possibility if he's that concerned about getting paid)...

and has been from the beginning. I believe the NCAA NEVER intended to let him play this year, especially for a non-marquee team like us, regardless of what the "fact-finding" resulted in. They have their suspicions and they have their info that is "off the record" or is uncorroborated and that is plenty for them. And basically the NCAA, which is NOT a court of law, can do whatever they want whenever they want in any case with any justification they want to drum up so there is not a thing we can do about it but sit and take it along with Sidney. I am personally just tired of the whole kangaroo court that is the NCAA. They've made sure to drag this thing out as long as possible anyway so whatever the decision, he's been suspended for the entire season anyway.

you couldn't be more right. I also believe that if he were at a UNC, Kansas, Texas, Duke, Kentucky hell even a Florida or UConn this would have been over and done with a long time ago.

that Sidney would be cleared this season and it would be soon. He did this at his "chalk talk" they have at the Holiday Inn I believe it is, right there by the football stadium.

remember the poster last week heard him confirm it while walking across campus. Evidently Rick just forgot and didn't play him because of that. I bet he was pissed beyond words at himself when he realized it. You would think that he would have written himself a note or something.

What does captain actually mean? Were you the captain of your high school football team? Was your high school mascot the dawgs? Or better yet is your tuesday night bowling league' team name called the "dawgs" and you got voted captain because you wear the coolest bowling shirt? Which is it man?

I could give 2 ***** about this Renardo situation or our 8th grade mens basketball whom I cannot wait see try 50 3-pointers in a game. I love it when the announcers our start laughing at us too. No better feeling!

I'm just passing this information along.

I just sensed smartass-ness from a fellow 6packer, so I fired back. Is that not normal here? If it's not then my apologies.
