I know that everybody is expecting miracles from Mullen after 2 games, but remember this, we are not a good team by SEC standards. We can thank Sly Croom for that. Mullen has 2 games under his belt as a new coach and alot of you guys are ready to fry him. I was complaining as much as anyone else Saturday about that damn 3 man front and watching Auburn "run downhill" against us. The topper was the Zach Smith coverage late in the 3rd I think on the dead duck pass that he seemed more interested in watching than playing.

Just look at the difference in the Auburn linebackers versus ours. They have linebackers that look like linebackers. Ours are thin and small. No offense Chaney, but you ain't no McClain from Bama!

If you think Mullen can't cut it, look at it this way. He arrived to a team that had NO receivers. He therefore went out and got as many as he could. Now he knows what he needs next-defensive backs. He will go get those this year with #1 being the Wells kid(I hope). I kinda compare him to what Richard Williams had to do when he started out. Sell the local top kids on MSU and work it upward from there. Expect to have a long year and next year might be the same. But by year 3, he'll get thing his way and you WILL be happy.

Greg Byrne was hired to change the perception of MSU. So far, I think he's done wonders. It's not going to be easy to get kids to come here, but they are desparatly trying to change that. Did you know of Boise State 10 years ago? Why do you think they are doing all of these projects. LT did nothing for the last 10 years and we are trying to catch up with the conference in a matter of 2 years. We are, at this point with football, a fledging team in a monsterous conference. We are out spent in every area of sports, with the exception of baseball.

I hate the have that feeling that we can never win these games against these top opponents. I have as much competitiveness as anyone and hate hearing from the folks in Alabama that we should just leave the SEC because we're not competitive. Croom is gone(thank God) and we are going to have to move forward and get behind Coach Mullen and (yes, I'm going to get slammed) Coach Torbush. We've asked them to come in and make chicken salad out of chicken ****. The Jackson State was just that-Jackson State. We'll not see a crappier team for the rest of this year.

Strap on your helmet, go to games, get ready for uglier losses, but look for improvement and better fundamentals and above all else, get ready to see a lot of youngsters playing, because in 3 years, they'll be all grow'ed up!

Hell, we all played high school ball and you always trump up your height and weight on your players. I've seen Chaney and there's no way he's that. If he's over 220, I'll buy lunch. You're telling me that you think our linebackers looked similar in stature to Auburn's? It's amazing that they are all listed at 245! Hmmm, very interesting.

Oh, but then again, maybe that extra weight kept them from getting to the corners on those end around. It definitely didn't help them get through those tight end and receiver blocks.

I can make as much sense as you do, General, if you want to put up media guide BS. Bottom line is we have very little talent and that was my point.

People see what they want to see. Your perception is flawed.

why did you include the part about us being skinny compared to them? Saying we have less talent would have been enough.

I want to go find Jamar Chaney and a scale, so I can get that lunch.

and HD says that:

logic tells me that Stevens and Herring both "trumped" up their height and weight.

so unless you are in training to be a carnie worker who guesses people's weight on the weekends for quarters then you might want to try to stick with your day job. also, HD6 getting a free lunch... BAD IDEA.
