That Franklin and Kraft had a screaming match after the game. I don't think the herd could put this in the public domain if it didn't happen but you never know with the media.
Anyway, makes me wonder was he fired for insubordination or were they yelling after he was fired. Interesting.

Doubt he was fired for insubordination
They both knew he was done. He knew the moment Northwestern slid down at the 3

Have heard this as well. Look - best for all if Franklin handles business and we move on to Iowa. There is a lot on the line for both of these men. Franklin found out he does in fact have a boss. Kraft will find out too if he f’s this up.

Franklin hung around, on the field, after the game. Let his player all go into the locker room. He slowly took a long look around the stadium. He knew it was his last time to soak it up. One way or another, he knew he was done.
Is that accurate? I thought he hung around looking around while waiting for everyone to come over for the alma mater. Then, after it, he went straight to the locker room following the players. But haven't seen video to confirm it.

I’m sure tensions were running high after the game, but I wonder what could have been said with the players around that would have precipitated a shouting match.

Plausible. Krafty seems like to type to periodically blow a fuse.

At least the players observed a life lesson....someone getting chewed out by their boss for underperformance. If true, it shouldn't have happened in the locker room, but Franklin might have been dismissive of Kraft wanting to engage.

the long slow look around the stadium, the 1000 yard stare, the vague non specific responses "its my responsibility" there was no doubt in my mind he knew he was done when game was over. I assume he was told as much before hand, some type ultimatum and knew was time to pay the piper.......

Kraft said he went to the Lasch building to break the news. Maybe Franklin got into it with some players? 🤷‍♂️

Agreed but I do think they were more than happy to help with the buyout
I'd be surprised if they coughed up more money. I wouldn't be surprised if they leaned on PSU to make a change asap because they've committed to a 10 year deal.

I have little doubt they were willing to help chip in...our success matters to them. Losing to UCLA and Northwestern doesn't build a brand. At least not our brand

They're already in for $300 million. I think that gives them a great deal of influence without spending another $50 million.

Kraft needs to tread very carfully. I remember another AD that was hated by the team. We need some Mauti’s and Zordich’s on this team. It’s desperately lacking in leadership.

If reports are correct, Adidas is already overpaying for its deal with PSU. If Kraft is looking to them for significant input into his decision, then he'll deserve what he gets.
