there is NOTHING controversial about that at all. That is much more tame than I thought it would be. Had I not known about it I would have completely missed it. Hell, I wouldnt have even known what it was about if I hadnt "heard" about it.

wild-eyed left. Anyone speaking against their long-held orthodoxy must condemned and criticized.

But I would still rather the Super Bowl be completely politically-neutral

for a couple of weeks, it has tebow in it and is on during the super bowl.....Id say that DOES have something to do with sports. Point was, I wouldnt have known it was a "social" issue had i not followed the story.

The commercial was probably the least offensive of all. Not that I thought any were offensive.

After all, this is America where Capitalism reins supreme. If Tebow or whoever wants to spend a large sum of money to be on TV and support their cause, then go for it.

Liberals advocate "Pro-choice" right? So what about Tebow's choice of being part of the commercial. What about the choice of the particular organization to pay and have such a commercial?

I have no problem with the commercial, and I thought they likely had a more controversial bit that was thrown to the cutting room floor late in the process, choosing to go with the less in-your-face bit.

It's a controversial topic though no matter which side you sit on.

Personally, and I'll get this thread locked now, I'm pro-choice. I don't like the idea of abortion, and I wouldn't want a woman to abort a child of mine unless there was a medical reason that could be fatal for the mother. However, I also am a realist, and I've read enough on birth control to know what happened in the days before birth control existed. To make it short, it's disgusting, and if people really don't want to have a baby, they'll do whatever it takes to prevent it. That's why you need legal birth control and also why you need legal abortion. Why, you say, do I relate birth control to abortion? Because to many people that's exactly what abortion is. Whether you like it or not, abortion is treated like last ditch birth control. If you make abortion illegal, it won't make people be smarter about who and when they sleep around. They'll just be forced to pursue alternatives that are not medically safe.
