Per Tennstud on scout...

<div class="messagebody">

"A senior starting player's father just called and said:</p>

"The only thing anyone knows about any conflict is that Smith wanted the players to run, then rest, then run some more, then lift later. A coach, or coaches, wanted lifting done immediately after the running in the morning; Smith disagreed." This seems hard to belive that this little conflict, rift, could, ,would cause a termination, but ......."</p> </div>
Interesting timing to say the least...

Dear Tennessee,

Thank you for hiring this train wreck of a coach and staff.

Sincerely,

but when he was hired by the Oakland Raiders in 2007 and some of us said "Who the hell is that?", he's proving that the majority of the American public were right to not have a clue who he was. Excuse me if I'm not overly impressed with his ability to recruit top notch talent to USC and coach guys like Reggie Bush, Matt Leinert, and LenDale White to BCS games.

When UT hired him, I still had no idea why he was on so many schools' short list for their head coaching positions, but maybe I'll find out. At this point, the most impressive thing that he's done is race up the coaching ranks like no other without having actually accomplished much of anything.

But he has a very hot wife, so he's at least got that going for him.

kept UT (a school with a crappy win history last year) in the headlines. Of course, he is the one who hired him.
